Download Irfanview - free of charge and dead easy to use. You can crop and resize your picture then save as a variety of formats. I crop most pics down to 800x600 for the forum and they save as about 200k .jpg I'd think 200x200 would be OK for a profile pic and a tiny file!

Are you sure? There isn't anything written saying there is a 50kb limit? In fact is recommends you upload an image over 200px so try and ensure come quality?

If you try and upload a massive file it says the file is larger than 50kb or something.

I had that issue with my photo I uploaded, so I changed the file format to a GIF and shrunk the picture to try and save as many KB as possible

I've increased the size limit now so try again
