I see it as a good thing. Every UMP sold is 1 less M4. Nothing wrong with M4's, I just think it would be nice if people learned that there are alternatives. 2 Tone UMP's are a step in that direction.
Two tone rifles shouldn't be frowned upon, I think it scares younger players from purchasing their own weapons and getting in to the sport in general if they think people will mock them for how hideous their gun is.
Kiwi raises a good point because under 18s cannot even purchase a rifle unless a parent does so for them. That said, I have absolutely nothing wrong with the 2tone system as it is (mainly because I have to use one for now anyway :/)
2 tone UMP's are an indication that manufacturers are seeing a market for a wider range of beginners guns. This means that beginners will get more choice than M4 MP5 or G36. Once beginners get more choice there will be more pressure for wider ranges of top end guns (so we can ensure we don't look like beginners) and this is all good. It's only a matter of time until someone makes an airsoft Owen gun
