APS are a Hong Kong brand IIRC. Most of their guns have been pretty poor quality qith the exception of the rather fantastic UAR. These blowback AKs are known to have fragile internals however APS may have upgraded them to their latest run of version 3 gearboxes. I'd be wary. More good AKs to consider would be the CYMA CM045 and Dboys RK01WS.

Cheers for that. I've been doing a bit of research but I cant find any info other than some suspiciously biased reviews on youtube. I've been tempted to get an AK for a long time but can never decide which one so I've never gone ahead with it. Ive played with the Cyma 028 and for the money they seemed decent. I'm always dubious about Dboys internally, isn't the rule of thumb with their AKs to got for a model with a W in it?

Not a rebrand, they used to be crap, not bad now but still better options for the money.

Dboys internals are a 'meh' but usable. Air seal parts and hop up are their downfall, gears, motor and piston are usable. Rule of thumb for Dboys AKs is that they have to have 'S' at the end, which means steel. Likewise 'W' Means wood. EG: RK08S,RK01S,etc... a lot of Dboys Steel guns have real wood barring a few with polymer furniture so you often get 'WS' as a suffix.

A mate of mine had an AK74 from one of the first batch into the country and the externals on it were beautiful. Real wood was bang on the money.

Internals slowly eroded themselves away because the piston fixed blowback would chip bits of paint and metal off the gearbox shell and deposit them inside the gearbox.

Once I cleaning it out and disabled the blowback it was a really solid performer. Firing very consistently at around 300fps and the range on it was fucking sill...

...silly.

For the price I'd say you can't go far wrong so long as you're willing to fiddle with it a bit.

Cheers for that boys :-). For the money I'm tempted, I like the idea of EBB but not the idea of the internals being shagged as a side effect. What mods can be do e to retain the blow back without it eating away at the internals?

Not sure I'd suit the 24 karrat insurgent look ;-)

If you want EBB, buy a G&G.

G&Gs EBB,although far from perfect is probably the most reliable system out there. Does not shag the internals but seems to cause air inconsistency however the consistency of these air inconsistencies appearing is very inconsistent I've found :P

I also want an EBB AK (well at some point anyway) my dad's CYMA AK is brilliant so when I'm 18 I might buy it off him or something. Otherwise I might get look for a G&G AKM. LevelCap did a video on his and it looks fckin lovely.
