I would guess if bearings fit, bearings. I don't know much about gearboxes but its always bearings in anything mechanical :)

If I remember correctly, bushings for the bevel gear and bearings for the sector and spur gear work best. I'll need to check this on ASM just in case.

Okay, cheers man, if it's any help I'm building a high speed/fast trigger response set up

(High torque motor, high speed gears)

Then you will need perfect shimming. Motor pinion to bevel shimming is very crucial as is angle of engagement correction. For trigger response a super high torque ACM unit will do,like the JG m42.

I've read a few places that you want bearings for high speed, and bushings for high FPS.

okay, im a gearbox noob so sorry for having to ask this but what are you talking about "Motor pinion to bevel shimming as is angle of engagement" ??

Yeah i will more than likely going to get a guarder infinite high torque motor with high speed gears.

Angle of engagment is the angle at which the sector gear(The big gear which touches the piston) contacts the first tooth of the piston. It should be 90 degrees for optimal reliability,it requires shaving off the 2nd tooth half way to correct it.
