yes/no.

A TM pistol has a TM hop-up, so it'll shoot for miles in a straight line, that's the #1 reason to get one. They also have plastic slides which are very light and very very high quality magazines and blowback units which makes them gas efficient, however, they're still governed by the laws of physics and a WE pistol with a CO2 mag is always going to shoot more reliably when it's really cold out (less than 0C), anything above 10C and I'll take a TM any day of t...

What jcheeseright. Cooldown resistance and gas efficiency are good, but there's so dodging the laws of physics. They'll perform far better at lower temperatures than metal pistols, obviously, but co2 will always win no matter what.

Another reason to get one is that spare parts are easy to find and the blowback is fast and crisp, not the sluggish wank of metal ones like the KJW m9.

Thanks. I'm not too bothered about range in a sidearm and the temperatures in the north east aren't exactly tropical. I've been looking at the RWL Nighthawk, what do you think? I've read good things about it.

It's made by KWC so spares may be hard to find.

When I get a new pistol I can't really decide between a TM G17 or a WE or KJW etc. I know they're not as reliable but I can't really see myself using a pistol much, so does the performance increase justify the price?

again, yes/no. while you may not use it much, when you draw it you'll want it to work first time every time. that's where the reliability comes in for me.
