G&G toptech is pneumatic blowback while TM is Piston driven Recoil & Blowback. TM is a totally different gearbox design and system.

No. The G&G isn't recoil, it just has a moving dust cover. They shoot about as well as each other but the TM is much more fun to shoot, has the bolt lock which is a nice feature- as is the recoil. The TM externals are also much nicer than that of the G&G. Mags are more expensive for the TM though but they are changeable from 30 to 82 rds with the flick of a switch and allow the bolt lock to work.

Dunno how the TM works but the G&G being pneumatic isn't connected to the gearbox in anyway so if it jams it doesn't damage the important stuff.

TMs use newer version gearboxes which are far stronger than traditional ones, stock ones can run on m100 springs fine with no major failures. From what I've seen I would not be surprised if they could run on m130s if one was to remove the recoil weight, but TM decided to go full retard on the gear set and make the sector gear pot metal and the rest out of carbon steel.
