I hated it, didn't get on with anyone, hated the fact that everyone was a drug and/or alcohol addled moron, it was easy and felt like I was being conned. £3k a year for reading books just so people pretending to teach me could line their pockets felt like an absolute joke.
Pretty much just disagreed with the whole idea of it on a moral level too much to want to stay for any longer.
So I'll actually have 260 points counting the 3 Ds and an E that I also got at GCSE, I didn't think anything less than a C was worth mentioning, but I guess everything above an E counts for the points basis.
I think actually needed 240 points for my current course, so that makes sense now.
I heard that the withdrawal from Afghan had been pushed back to 2018 now? Or is that just hearsay?
Join the TA (Army Reserve), its the way forward...and I say that as a regular. Part time, selective work periods, none of the day to day BS that we put up with.
I can hide my obsession fairly well. Otherwise I'd have probably never been allowed in a school, at Uni, to have a job, on a range, airsofting, or anywhere else for that matter lol.
yeh, the CO19 is in london. To me, the CO19 is more interesting than the TA. Or you can join the Anti terrorist branch which includes explosions. Or you can join the Ministry of defence which they use SA80s and MP7s
Co19 is londons police firearms team (or callsign)
You need to be a standard bobby for several years before they consider you for going on the training course. It would come out at some point unfortunately.
i think you need to be a regular police officer for 2 years and... that's basically it. Being in regular police is probably just as good. You get to boss the public around. Other than that, just logic really. Reasonably physically fit and able to work in teams. I'd recommend that over the TA but that is your choice. I'm only choosing the CO19 because I don't want to be away from my family overseas.
I had the same thing Ed, I dropped out last year for similar reasons. Didn't help I was stuck in halls with a bunch of the drunk half wits too. I mean who the f*ck thinks its okay to skateboard down the hallway at 3am?
How come they're so against it, Dave? Just blind idiocy, assuming that because you like guns, you'll look for a reason to shoot things with them or something?
When I was at boarding school we used to ride 'Henry' vacuum cleaners and race them down the corridors- there is nothing in life more exhilarating than that, trust me.
