Yes, but 1) they'll only let you do that after they've already attempted to deliver at least once.
2) they all close at half 5. I finish work at 5 and it takes me half an hour to get home, so unless the roads are all perfectly clear and I floor it, it's a toss up as to whether I make it there on time.
No, they only deliver to ones close to my home address unfortunately that I've seen so far; they're stuck about 15/20 years in the past.
To Contrast this: I ordered from zero one on Thursday morning, who use DPD, not only did they deliver on Friday morning but they give you the option of diverting to a neighbour, or a local pick-up point prior to the delivery attempt.
And to boot, I think RM posties have no idea what a doorbell is! ?
Anyway, this isn't really too serious a post, just a rant and looking forward to the day when they eventually cease to be. (Which will likely be never unfortunately!)
I'll give them their dues when it comes to things that can fit through a letterbox, but it seems like anything beyond that proves an insurmountable challenge for them! ?
Is it too much to ask that they do just one single day per week with late opening hours? ?
ah right that's what i was thinking. A lot of retailers use small parcel service as standard even for products that would fit through the letterbox, partly due to reduced fraud and packages that accidentally get posted through the wrong letterbox, about 1 in 1000 for me. I always use large letter where possible, I've even tried to source small parcel boxes that fit into letterboxes but you just can't find them. Large Letter with RM is fucked up though, 25mm whereas a letterbox is 38mm. They could make things a lot easier but they don't.
Oh and you're right, depot opening hours for collection is f**king ridiculous. It never used to be this bad, only in the last couple of years. They really don't want people turning up at the local depots.
