Shouldn't do as long as it was done correctly, ie the change in diameter was smoothed out and straight across the barrel. Honestly though for the amoutn of frigging around is it worth it? ZCI barrels are like £15?

If its done well, it might be a boon for when you use particularly heavy ammo if Maple Leaf's guff is true. Without some decent tools though I am unsure how well you would go. It would be much easier to just cut down the barrel beyond the deposit and recrown.

depends on the quality of tools you have access to.

tbh i'd say chopping and crowning is the better move here.
