Yeah you shoot 0.2 bbs through it.

You can shoot other weights as long as you tell them and then they refer to a conversion chart.

At the national airsoft event they load your empty mag with 0.2s before chrono.

depends on the site.

some sites will have their own ammo which they stuff in your mag, normally .2's

other sites will just ask you what weight you're running and chrono with that.

there are arguments both ways, the former method eliminates the possibility of players lying their way through chrono at the cost of players unwittingly running higher if their gun is susceptible to joule creep.

the latter method eliminates the joule creep problem, but opens up to the old ".2's honest guvnor" method of cheating chrono.

there's plenty of debate over which is the better method, personally i prefer by player's game weight as that requires intentional dishonesty to cheat.

there are other variations too, such as sites that insist on chrono'ing with hop units turned off (really dislike that practice) or some where chrono is practically self service if you feel like it. and far too many places don't bother to check halfway through the day to see if everyone's still using the same gun.

right awesome thank you :) was racking my brain trying to figure it out lol

and agreed @Adolf Hamster i wouldnt be happy having to adjust my hop either

the issue with the hop is it can either drastically increase or decrease the fps going from a realistic set point to completely off, which is wildly inaccurate as nobody runs with the hop off anyway.

oh totally bud ive seen it myself the 621 shoots at 340 with hop off and 320 set to .25's which was why iw as asking aswell as need to get as close to the 350fps on .2's as i want to run .28's preferebly

it'll vary quite wildly. some guns it can drop fps with the hop completely off as the bb is basically rolling out the barrel by the time you fire the shot.

also changing hop rubbers can affect things, for example a gun setup to fire .3's is gonna be slightly higher using a maple leaf rubber than a g&g because whilst both can lift them the g&g applies more pressure to do so, however the maple leaf will have a smaller change between .3's and .2's.

generally i aim for the limit in joules with everything set for the ammo weight i run because ultimately that's what the guy on the other end is gonna feel, you can aim a little under for safety (eg for a 1.1j limit go for 1.05j) should give enough leeway to make up for whatever method the site is using.
