Is your hop set though? If hop isn't set then you will likely get a bit less.

that is with hop adjusted

Absolutely fine/correct on fps etc...

11rps is about correct-ish on Cheapo China guns

27tpa lame Cyma motor producing about 18,000rpm

with weak ferrite magnets on a cheap motor

Bung deans on might add a rps or two

is about only real tweak you can do without

opening her up & shit (not advised)

or run on a bit higher juice

im happy with it just got a good giggle from the rof of it lol

by more juice u meaning go to lipo?

S
Sitting Duck
generaly I use the term juice for more volt/amp

than get into technical crap of

well actually that is more an increase in amperage/watts

than actual voltage or the burst/discharge rate shit

yeah fuck it - juice covers most of it at times

than be specific/precise shit

voltage as a rule of thumb

but capacity and amp/discharge shit also is a factor too

LiPo's generally pack a lot more punch/zest/power ooomph

whatever you wanna call it but there are LiPo's & there are LiPo's

(makes perfect sense - not)

GENERALLY when selecting LiPo's

you want min 20c - pref 25c burst

(if it says 20c~40c - yeah it's a 20c ffs)

as high capacity as poss

deans if possible

you can look on YT for deans vs tamiya

and vids on battery capacity etc...

motors are a bit weird...

torquey motors seem to be boosted more by higher juice

than High Speed motors as vid shows them reaching limits

many choose a more balanced motor 25~30k

sitting between torquey 18~22k & 40k+ high speed

then depending on gun/build/spec you can

run on 7.4v with 13:1's

or

run on 11.1v on std 18:1's

everyone has their own preference

but also each gun/build will vary & stuff like budget

as well as circumstances & ability/time etc...

generally getting something about 20rps

give or take a couple/few rounds is maybe the norm/std

at around 18rps the guns cycles quick enough

that you are less likely to release trigger too early on semi

leaving it partly cycled with COL raised

resulting in dead trigger - DON'T FORCE IT

switch to auto - fire it and try again in semi

you released trigger too early than wait for it to

finish a full cycle on its own

still can happen firing on auto then going to semi

but often new players on slow gun release trigger

too early on semi - dead zone trigger

foolishly FORCE IT and fuck the trigger trolley inside

a gun say on 19rps is less likey to do this

(still can happen but less likely)

as gun is cycling faster - so liable to finish cycle

on a brief trigger pull on semi

other wise - get used to better trigger disipline

and hold the trigger on semi longer

so it properly finishes the cycle on semi

(yeah just better if you can give the gun a bit more zest)

but yeah - deans is perhaps first thing you might wish to consider as it is a choke point for resistance

in a std lame gun you won't notice a massive difference

but on tweaked guns the small tamiya really warms up

as a weak connection point when transferring power

as said you could slap a diode across lame motor in 516

then run 11.1v to hit 18rps say

but deans over tamiya anyday

3fps variance is pretty damn good, any tighter and you're getting into the territory where ammo quality becomes a factor.

11rps is tricky, you could think about precocking which will make the response a lot snappier on semi-auto but leave full auto as-is, or as duck suggests a new motor and/or a gutsy battery will get it moving.

generally my rule of thumb is decide if you're wanting 7.4 or 11.1 (generally space rather than speed if you're building the gun to suit the battery as duck mentions), the biggest C-rating your wallet can afford and the biggest capacity the gun will take. an under-utilised battery is safer than an over-stressed one and i'd rather fix a shredded gearbox than a burned gun.

and yes, deans master race (or xt60 or whatever premium connecter you like just not tamiya), plus it stops a lot of folk from trying to sponge batts off you :P

to be fair guys this one im leaving as is runs pretty sweet and the boys happy with it should of seen his face :) i will be ocnverting to deans though as prefer them from my rc days anyway lol :)
