There used to be a legend that marui employees who failed QC and made bad guns (I.e,the guy who made the M92f) commited ritual suicide. They actually went to work for WE.

What was it that you bought the other week? Gas rifle? Is it that that's done goofed?

Details man, details!

I wouldn't want to buy from a company that uses tape measures :-P micrometers dude... Tape measures and rules are for non accurate measuring

I could understand if the parts on the gas-block were 1-2mm out of spec. However, A whole inch and a half, is just utterly ridiculous.

What are we talking about here?

Was working on an L85 a friend bought. Trying to fit the RIS kit, WE gives you an entirely new gas block (rather than an adaptor like ICS).

The hole for the sling mount (which is the crucial part of the kit - the sling mount, like the real L85, holds the RIS in place) was 1.5 inches too far forward. There's no way in hell the RIS kit will fit the rifle without serious work and a lathe.

Sure you got the right parts in the RIS set? The Hornbill RIS comes with a new gas block for the ICS L85 (which the WE's externals, at least for the front end, are based off), the Madbull RIS can be fitted with an adaptor and as far as I know, the real RIS needs the Hornbill, or standard gas block both modifying with a file.

It's certainly easily possible to get a RIS set on the WE L85, maybe you just have the wrong one or something. An inch and a half out certainly isn...

<_<

Certainly isn't something to do with a manufacturer's QC, it's just too far wrong.

Nope, it was WE's own brand RIS kit - unlike the Madbull kit, it's a replica of the real thing. It comes with it's own replacement gasblock (again, replica of the real thing). All the parts had WE's branding on them. Compared it to another WE L85 replacement gasblock, and this one very definitely had the hole in the wrong place.

Well that's pretty terrible then, bad luck, Hugh.

I (and the L85's actual owner - who I was trying to get it all to fit for) are glad that Patrol Base has a lathe to fix the problem. (Well, drill a new hole in the right place). Just confused as to how WE could make a part that badly.
