Most batteries will fit in the dust cover of CM.045a just depends what fet you’re putting in it.

Truthfully I have no idea when it comes to mosfets, they weren't a common thing back when AEGs were something I used. From my loose understanding either a Perun v3 or some sort of Gate thing (there seem to be so many and I'm yet to look into what the differences are). I imagine it'll be a case of chatting to the person I get to do the work and seeing if they have any advice? The tech side of things is very much the 'against my better judgement' part!

For an ak i tend to stick to nanoasr or warfet.

Avoid active braking as it'll royally screw up semi auto unless like the warfet theres some precocking to it.

Warfet is definitely a name I've heard/seen thrown around generally in a positive light, so thanks for the recommendation. Not fussed in the slightest about RoF, but a nice snappy trigger is high on the priority list (though if my general understanding is correct when it comes to AEGs if you want one of those two things, you tend to get the other as a byproduct).

Not necessarily. Mosfets that offer precocking (the warfet being one) can take a lot of the lock time out of the semi auto without going ham on full.

As with all things depends on how far you wanna go, did a build for a mate a while back that was basically a mostly stock cyma box (stock gearing and motor at least) with a warfet and the performance was great.

That's good to know, ta very much. Looks like a warfet will be the way I go mosfet wise then.

I'm not planning on getting a huge amount done outside a clean, re-shim assuming it needs it, re-lube and replace any bits in the gearbox itself which fell short during QC, certainly not planning on replacing anything that doesn't need replacing... I'll save that for when things die. Then it's a mosfet and likely throwing a 60 degree macaron/omega nub, and a ZCI barrel assuming I have the correct length lying around. Which does lead me to another question that you fine folks may, or may not be able to help with.

I've noticed from videos that the inner barrel (listed on various sites as 290mm so I'll go ahead and assume that's the correct length) protrudes into the booster. Don't suppose anyone would happen to know how much by? I'm popping a different 'muzzle device' on there so ideally I'm looking to have the inner finish up before it starts heading into said new 'muzzle device'. My best guess from video is 250mm-ish but it's hard to gauge scale via a video.
