@Asomodai Section 139(6) of the customs and excise management act 1979 (hereinafter 'the Act') and paragraph 1 of Schedule 3.
Last sentense says "There fore, the goods have been seized by foce of the following provision: Section: 49(1)(e) of the Customs and Excise management Act 1979
@matas17So it has definitely been seized due to the description of the parcel not matching what's inside. Whether they know what the part actually is, can be crucial. Have you confirmed that Border Force has it?
@matas17I have to check because sometimes it is stuck at the main ParcelForce depot, UK Customs at Dover or Border Force in Birmingham. When I corresponded with them I contacted Border Force in Birmingham.
Can you post the numbers that were provided to you?
@Asomodai
There is contact phone number to Phymouth office which is: Tel +44 (0) 1752 765817
Then at the front of the ltter there is Border Force number for belfast office which is : 02896931537
@matas17 Looking back at my call log, Birmingham BF is 0121 781 7863 However it is very much hit or miss if they pick up. Try from after lunchtimes on a weekday. Make sure you have you case number. They are terribly understaffed so be polite and understanding and they will do their best.
Having not dealt with your situation I am unsure what you can say to compel them to release it.
@matas17 Email never got me anywhere. I had to keep ringing up (But being exceeding polite and understanding!) It took over 3 months from seizure to get my Real Sword T97 out from them to my door.
I wish you the best of luck but it seems this issue has been caused by misdeclaration and you/the seller have been caught out. I had an "Hogwards Glock 42" destroyed for being declared as "toy parts, value USD 10" - even though I had a valid defence (UKARA).
Have you got a letter from Border Force?
Here is my story if it helps!
