I believe it is #2 on the diagram. Needs to be taken off to access the barrel assembly, and usually has a spring behind, not sure if that’s the recoil spring tho.  It was bought as 2nd hand for £40, and is my first pistol so I’m not majorly fussed, just don’t want to take it to the field first...

I recently bought a 1911 from PatrolBase boneyard, and have noticed the gun is missing the barrel end cap and the barrel spring. Took the risk and not quite sure if it was worth it. At the price it is a steal, but that’s only if the gun is playable in this condition or if I can find new parts. ...
