    A vid would help to diagnose, but going from your description about it leaving a bit of a gap: The MP9 (same internals) can sometimes have an issue that the recoil spring (long spring on top of bolt) weakens and doesn’t fully lock the bolt home. I’m not sure if this was rectified on the VMP...

    Army Armament R45 detonics hop unit

    Pretty sure this will just be a standard 1911 type hop. The externals are shorter, but the inner workings should be standard 1911 stuff. The Guarder 1911 one is listed as working for the Detonics too, so go for it.

    Bolt Action RIF advice.

    If you can, try an SRS before you buy… I had one that I upgraded to the hilt and used a fair bit, but I just couldn’t get used to the bullpup bolt pull. I tried extra stock spacers, no spacers, but just couldn’t get used to it, actually gave me tendinitis in my elbow the last time I used it...
