Thanks. That's a pretty good idea. A little more complex than my original plan to just cut the whole thing down but I'm pretty confident I can mount it square enough to achieve that. I also have access to wire eroders which might be the more accurate option

They have a piece of elastic you can use to tighten them. Between that and the rubbery material they're made of they're pretty good for retention

I picked up a Holy warrior TA-02 recently. It's my preferred ACOG style with a battery powered illuminated reticule and a forward mounted red dot. It's still got the ACOG look but just modernised a bit. It's on the more expense side but it works and looks really good
