    I'll take my m14 to bits when I get in and see what can be done. How would one "tap a thread" if I cut down the barrel? Thinking about doing it to my beloved M14 doesn't bode well at all :( can't make omelette without cracking eggs I suppose...

    That's right yes. I did message him a few days ago but I have had no reply yet. I've asked on the zero in forum but haven't had much luck so I thought i would try a different community :) I do hope there is a way around it without resorting to hacking bits off :(
