  • Can anyone recommend Jing Gong for a first rifle? I was looking at their G36 series and was wondering if they're usable out of the box without tinkering (mainly because I would have no clue what I'm doing).

I know I would probably be better off going for something like the CM16, but I want something different to what all of my friends have that isn't an AR/M4 platform.

As JG go, their G36 is one of the better RIFS they offer.

Search JG G36 in the forum search function and have a look at what the guys who own them say.

I haven’t owned one, but people who’s opinions I trust say they are very good starter G36s, I think @Smooth_Operator has one?

    Hey both.

I've got 2 G36 AEGs, although neither of them are JG. I've got 1 Umarex and 1 S&T.

Personally I'd recommend an S&T G36 as a perfect starter AEG. Similar price to the JG and hugely better performance and build quality.

I've got 2 JG's an MP5 and an AUG. Both are ridiculously good for the money. I know that later JG G36 models have an adjustable spring system (as does my AUG) so your G36 may well be adjustable. Fold the stock and look to see if there is a hole that will take an allen key in a position that matches the rear of the gearbox. If there is , turning counter clockwise reduces spring tension.

Played a game yesterday (only my second time). Pretty much all my hits burst my skin even where I was covered. Is this normal? I didn't see many others with bleeding so did I just get unlucky or something?

I'm not on any kind of medication. One of my friends had something similar, but that was a fully exposed shot to the forehead unlike mine which were all under a hoodie sleeve, some even double layered.

Also could someone explain what you mean by 'hot gun'? As I said I'm quite new to this so I'm not familiar with some of these terms.

A 'hot' gun is one that is shooting beyond the site power limit. For instance most sites have a limit of 350 fps using .20 BB's if the gun can shoot full auto. A gun shooting more than this is 'hot' Typically snipers have a limit of 500 fps but are restricted by having a minimum engagement distance (MED) which is commonly 30 meters.

Went to the same site again yesterday. There were only 20 or so people this time around (somewhere around half of the amount from last time). I went out in the week and bought some undershirts as well as some t-shirts, both long sleeve.

I'm still unsure of what made the difference, but I managed to walk away yesterday with minimal marks, the worst being on my hand which only left a small red patch (I was wearing gloves). Either that little bit of extra clothing went a long way or no-one was running a hot gun this time around.

Once again thanks to anyone who was able to help me as now I can do something I enjoy with zero worries ?.

(Edit: Just spaced out the reply into paragraphs.)

Highest quality Airsoft supplier? (e.g. G&G, ICS etc.)

Lol, Trigger. Also Daytona Guns are pretty solid internally.

Best quality without paying silly money is Real Sword way beyond anyone else. Second best is Krytac. TM guns are most people's favourite and their AEG's work well, which is surprising as the actual quality of parts is pretty shite.

    Ics Good, G&G ok

    G&G cm16 from pro airsoft supplies :)

I have just read through all the threads in the New Players and Arrivals section but was still wondering how many times should I play airsoft games before I put any money into the sport?

What about the 'cba' loadout (Yawns told me about it when I first joined)? Would that work?

buy a G&G cm16 (a plus is that they are easy to sell) and basic protection before the first game, then just go with the flow, imo.

You will get more help / information if you post in the New Players & Arrivals section. Plus it will be searchable in the future for yourself and other new players.

Personally I wouldn't prioritise an optic. Gloves and a shemagh/scarf would be higher up my list. Definitely check out the threads which Jedi mentioned though.

You're all wrong, £2 pair of 'safety' glasses from the market, Nike trainers and a £2500 systema from project PTW, don't you guys know anything??

    Seriously, read the guide above
