Yeah, had looks at the velajo burnt earth powder. But it's one of them. Your never sure of the true colour when looking online. And no decent model/railway shops near me at all.
I was thinking about genuinely heating it up. But not sure how well airsoft stuff would hold up.

I am aware of the red ish hue. But am trying to figure out how to best add it without it looking shit. As painting doesn't blend too well.
Airbrush maybe only option. But not something that's I own.
For the burnt look. It's a mix of brown, blue and black paint. Slowly dabbed on with a sponge...

Been working on my 7.62 surefire.
Trying to give it a well fired/burnt look.
It's not the best for a 1st attempt.
Any suggestions how to get it looking better?
So I got my PKP back.
Done some work on it.
Added a 1p87 red dot, added correct markings to the gas block and top cover.
Made a stand that replicates a Russian type ammo crate. Not perfect, but gives it a look.
