You're right - I read that as only being able to see 8m without the scope so assumed it was longer range. Either way I believe the BBs are being sorted now.and 8m you will be fine with .20's

Is this for stopping BBs? Even a hanging towel will do that![]()
I'm not too worried about them bouncing back because the chances of it getting shot would be slim. It's only a safety precaution to stop BBs hitting next doors window (I'd rather they bounced back than hit next doors window). Also, I'd fix it loosely to the framework to try and minimize ricochet.BBs will bounce back from that. Towel or something similar should work. It has to be able to bend so it catches the BB instead of bouncing it back.
Aye, but if you can hit a window you could just as easily hit a person.I would be astonished if a 0.2g bb would damage a double glazed window. Certainly all the juvenile mini-skirmishes my parent's garden hosted over the years didn't see any window damage caused to the house, although we were mostly using 0.12g bbs...
Exactly - I'm not prepared to take any risks, however small they are.Aye, but if you can hit a window you could just as easily hit a person.![]()
Might leave out the word bearings. Bearings are scary (and heavy), either way, when you do go, take some BBs with you.Exactly - I'm not prepared to take any risks, however small they are.
Think I'll also knock on next door to explain that my son will be firing plastic ball bearings in the garden and will emphasis the point that these plastic BBs can't break the skin.
Good idea. I'll take some and refer to them as plastic balls.Might leave out the word bearings. Bearings are scary (and heavy), either way, when you do go, take some BBs with you.
Hang on a sec, not a page down we have a topic about a child losing his eye in a accident with an airsoft sniper rifle.
You say your not taking risks but you really really are.
Giving any type of firing gun to a child is a risk. That's a fact.
Shooting in an area that is likely the BB will leave your boundary is not just a risk but illegal.
You keep mentioning g 8m, is that your maximum range? If so that's a huge ricochet risk with plastic bbs.
The more you talk, the more this setup sounds incredibly dodgy.
Don't be naive, at <10m a 450fps rifle will break skin.
Will tarpaulin stop a BB? I was worried it would go through it., but tarpaulin or just a towel won't. You're right though - ricochets will happen with anything that doesn't have some elasticity to it.
