I'm just collecting opinions, no need for you guys to go all crazy about this. And even if I use you what you guys have said, i will acknowledge them by using quotes or similar.
I just needed both sides of the arguments and i've definitely seen both here
Oh, and to hprentice and M_P, I've not seen anyone use any other font other than the defult one and i've not seem anyone use various sizes of text, so I just thought i'd do that as my natural way of spicing things up.
Because a huge massive text of words of the same size and font is just fookin' boring

The whole of the internet is a serious of opinions; but don't expect people not to tear you a new one when you decide to write about an over-worked topic... in an unreadable font.
I'm not sure of the context here, but from a legal standpoint that could be read as "if a child under the age of 14 is present when someone else is shooting an air rifle, then an adult of 21 or older must be there to supervise them". Again, if you could provide some context then this may be of more help, as it sounds like this only applies when someone of ages 18-21 is the shooter.
Anyone under the age of 18 (but older than 14) may borrow ammunition or an air gun on private property. The Anti-Social Behaviour act brought into place in 2003 requires that any minor using an airgun must be supervised by someone of 21 or over at all times, but 'supervision' is essentially just having someone on the property "in proximity" to the shooter.
Some of the points you make are fairly valid, but they're nothing new or controversial and everyone's heartily sick of discussions over UKARA/VCRA. Law doesn't evolve in synchronisation:- VCRA only came into being in 2006 (and in-fact the amendments that mostly involve RIF manufacturing only come into being after October 2007), and we've certainly not seen the end of changes to how RIFs and air-rifles are legislated in the UK. 7 years is a really short amount of time when it comes to things like this; maybe you could change tack and start discussing the future of RIFs, airguns/rifles, instead of their past.

I'm not bothered about the fonts that you have used, just the size and the fact that it keeps changing- you probably make some valid points and good well-thought out arguments, it's just a pain to read with the size being all over the place so I gave up.

They had the best bread ever. Waitrose have just about made up for it by selling god penises as sausages though, they're that good.

I like Waitrose Sausages but I actually prefer Lidl Brand Bratwursts,those things are teh leets.
I really miss the old Superquinn before Supervalu bought them out,they used to import a lot of Scandinavian stuff which was super delicious. I miss EuroShopper Mayonnaise and their Norwegian Salmon among other things. Now it's just standard fare Irish and British stuff. No more Finnish moose penises as sausages.
Hanyway,I'll ad my opinion to the fire. Northern Ireland has the worst of both worlds,retarded British laws and our Japanese copycat laws,you can't have a RIF without being on UKARA, and your gun must shoot no more than 1 joule!

On that point, I actually hate waitrose. No really I do. Their own brand products are shyte. Yes, shyte.
I bought a "waitrose" BBQ wrap that is supposed to taste good but most of it is all slobbered with coleslaw which was probably made from teeth whiteners garnished with beef that is probably cow pat except they added a bit of rubber to get that, exaggerated beefy texture.
It's even worse than Tesco's horse meat burger stories. Even horse meat would provide at least a bajillion times more nutrients than teeth whiteners and cow pat.
Morrison's M savers value ham is like 99.99% water.
Sainbury's sausages are shyte.
Asda's roll back prices usually mean shyte quality.
Tesco sells strawberry jelly for 6p.
Also, Tesco sell hair gel for 20p which I bought for the lolz. It was the equivalent of water. Did not hold my hair up at all. Then there was the upgrade option of the "Tesco's Sports Gel" which would provide more hold for a mere 44p!

The point you made about given an air rifle that is meant by ownership.. while you can be given/gifted an RIF if you have no defense you cannot be given/gifted an airrifle if you are under the age of 14. You can however, shoot one which is owned by someone else and while someone who is 21years or older is present to supervise.
The point you made about the two people pointing an airsoft and airgun at each other. The thing you have to remember is that the police have no idea it is a toy, to them it looks like a real gun and the fact it looks like one is the important bit! Most airrifles look like airrifle and not other guns and most police will recognize that fact it is an airrfle. However, because a lot of the public won't that is why you are still not allowed to have them out in public. But to the police officers vision you see two people one with an assault rifle and one with an airrifle or at most a low caliber hunting rifle and of the two the assault rifle will do far more damage and is far more illegal.
And while you can get realistic looking airguns the controls are in theory tighter as you have to be in person and there is no gifting. The reason the laws on airsoft are probably seemingly so harsh is because they are deemed to be more widely available than the realistic airguns and probably 99% of criminals don't know you can get realistic airguns but do know you can get realistic airsoft guns.
Also the legal limit of an airrifle is actually closer to 600fps using an airgun pellet, however, that does vary. Airguns are regulated by the energy they produce which has an upward limit of 12.7ft/lb and if you go over that you need an FAC, the speed of a pellet leaving the barrel if far less important than the energy its producing as ultimately thats what will do the damage. You also don't really have set pellet weights like you do in airsoft.
To do a comparison to airguns you really need to know the law on airguns inside out as well as airsoft. If I were you for your English I'd choose another topic as all of the law governing this is so complicated and has so many grey areas that it would firstly be very difficult but also your teacher will likely get confused and in reality no one outside of the sport really gives a sh*t

2 quick things I picked up on.
A person under 14 would probably be able to use the airgun of a 21+ year old to shoot under supervision, that's why they would need to be supervised.

Wasn't he just looking for opinions to put into an English project? You've all just jumped on him for getting facts wrong, where I assume most of them were put wrong on purpose to heighten the stupidity of the laws for comic effect.

You really ned to engage your brain more before submitting this and think about what you have read.
Take airguns first:-
"Persons under the age of 14:
1) No person under the age of 14 may purchase, hire or be given an airgun or ammunition.
2) A person under the age of 14 must at all times when shooting be supervised by a person over the age of 21."
Anyone over the age of 18 can buy an airgun but it has to be a face-to-face transaction and the retailer gets you to fill out a couple of forms - they should check/record your name, address etc. It is then fine to allow someone under age 14 to USE that airgun so long as they are supervised by a person over the age of 21.
Not really that difficult to understand. Airguns are covered by the firearms acts.
Now - Airsoft
You have to be aged 18 or over to buy an airsoft gun and then it has to be two-tone unless you have a valid defence. Doing your three skirmishes at an approved site then allows someone OVER 18 to by RIFs. Once someone over 18 has a valid defence they can buy aRIF and gift it to someone under 18. There is no way that someone under 18 can legally be sold any airsoft gun two-tone or RIF - SIMPLE.
The law is by no means perfect but for anyone taking up the sport of airsoft, getting their defence (if aged 18 or over) is no real problem. Playing you three games gives you time to see what other players use, maybe try out different guns and then buy something that you will be happy with for some time.
If you just want a gun to play with in the garden for target shooting then having a two-tone should be no problem or you could ask your parents to buy an airgun and allow you to use it under supervision.
I would rather have the VCRA with all its faults than have a load of kids running round the streets with RIFs and then have a toptal ban on them. It may cause a few problems for collectors but I am selfish enough to prefer them to have a problem if it helps the sport to continue.
If you just want to have a realistic gun then it is easier to buy an airgun. Seems a bit stupid as they are more powerful than airsoft guns and fire metal pellets which will do more harm. The good thing is that misuse of those will hopefully not harm the sport of airsoft.

I may have misunderstood points (like we all do) about the airgun laws but then again, I did tell you guys to justify that more for me if I did which some of you have... and some... a little more exaggerated....
And the font size changing isn't really that challenging to read properly... I mean, I can read it fine myself. And I knew people would get a little pissed, so that's why I put the "DON'T JUST SKIM THE PASSAGE" thing. It's not really that difficult to read is it?
So, to sum up the opinions, about 6 are are saying that they are either fine with it or don't care and 5 are saying they don't like it or they would rather not have it.
So for a general look around and view points here, more people are fine or don't care by a minority.
