Good news! I'm on sopmod style batteries now so I'll probably need to charge one up after the first day!

Probably charge up after the first 10 minutes,if it's cold!

Quickly, break out the soldering Iron. I'll send you some spare deans I have lying around via pigeon!

I think I'ma coming. I've secured a lift with a local living Uni mate.

Thing is, how the balls does the booking work? It says they want you to send an email... But how does the payment you make ever get tied to the message you sent? How do they know who's paid and who's just sent the email? What's to stop me emailing them and saying my name's Ian and then just stealing Ian's ticket, and by extension, money.

Sort of.

If you get meh?

Once I figure it out, I'll book and send them my deposit. But, with the opinion of ZeroOne that I have (not good), I don't want to take any chances.

Least of all when they won't even answer my question via Facebook... It pisses me off so much that shops will use social media to advertise, but just straight up ignore all the questions littering it.

If I remember correctly from last year, when you email to book it, you get an email back, with your names and a unique player number to each name of the person you booked.

Then when you pay, you reference the player names, email, player number and I think contact number, although not sure.

It gets even worse when you're booking for multiple people, and some want to pay in full and others want to pay just deposit and the rest on the day.

I don't remember thinking there was much of an issue to booking last year, Ed. I mean I don't remember any hassle and I probably would if there had been anything dodgy or overly complex about it.

@James: yeah an AF-UK campsite has got to be the best plan, regardless of which faction anyone chooses, - the more of us around, the better the security. What's the op, mate? Hope it's something with a good prognosis...

Regardless of camping together, I'd rather a bunch of us play on the same faction. Playing alone is OK, but it's a huge site and exploring it with people is cool.

Email's been sent, so I'm more or less a confirmed attendee ^_^

I hope my shitty pop-up tent is up for it, 'cos I can't afford to buy another.

@Ian, I'm having a wide excision of a pilonidal sinus with healing by secondary intention, recovery time is expected to be approx 16 weeks with some seriously unpleasant after care required. Needless to say it'll stop me skirmishing for a few weeks at the very least.

AF-UK campsite is a must, as you said better security with more people about and a bigger support network for when someone's gun goes wrong. Please note: WHEN, not if.

^^Quite lidderally a prolonged pain in the arse then. Ouch! You don't smoke though, right? So you should heal without infection. Maybe an idea to start taking @least 1, maybe 2, 1000mg Vit C tabs/day and some Vit E too - Holland & Barret are having one of their "buy one get one 1/2 price" sales @mo. Good luck!

Yeah, when. I'm hoping to take more than 1 gun this year...

If you guys are going to set up a forum campsite should I buy the forum patch or should I just go up to you guys and tell you I'm Stormhall.

Whichever takes your fancy.

We could do with an AF-UK flag to better mark our camping area with...

Speaking of the actual event though, how the bloody balls do you pay the deposit?! I've got the email with my booking reference quote in it, so I go to the booking page on the website, click pay, login with Google Wallet, place the order... and it's done. That's it.

There's no opportunity to type in my booking reference...

So, wtf do I do?

Lol Ed, I can't remember! I think I got another email last year, but I'm pretty sure you need your booking reference when you pay the remainder.

You should buy a forum patch anyway, Stormhall!

We do need a flag. Vistaprint for the win. If you look about you'll find an offer to get stuff free - they're always running them. You just pay for postage and processing, which isn't that much. I could sort one out I spose, but if I end up carrying my gear on public transport again I'm not bringing any extra weight! It needs the original forum logo file to print from anyway so it's more of a moderator thing, but I'll happily contribute a few quid...

Finding each other on site is one of the main reasons for the phone number swap idea from the OP...

The payment system has me cautions.

Although Never done this event before Sounds like a blast. Not long ago done North Vs south (massive scale paintball) So would love to do an airsoft event on a large scale.

I have to say the big games are usually the most fun. if not just for the campsite banter alone.

When paying I still had to fill in an address section for it to go through, so I just changed my name to include the booking reference. Hopefully that'll do.

I don't know how else you're supposed to do it.

I'm sure they'll get the message, I remember last year it was pretty painless booking in.

Flag is a good idea, as Ian said phones are important to coordinate, though out in the site you'll want a decent pmr radio to keep in touch.

If we have flags printed, can we nominate some one to be bannermen? Have them charging at the front of the pack screaming like petrified pigs.

I call dibs, only on the condition that we are the forlorn hope for a game :)

P.S. I've gotten hold of 5 XTNI's and a XTNID, do also have crappy headsets as well, might be of some use.

motorola XTNs will certainly be of use, they're what a lot of guys at my normal woodland site use and they do the job!

Flag carrying loon is possible probably only for the final battle in the village at the end of the event, the rest of the time there is no 'pack' generally and despite there being several hundred people on the site at any one time it can sometimes be rather quiet, there's definitely scope for playing it sneaky.
