"Retro" Gaming 1995-2001

My oldest gaming memory was playing Sonic 2 on my neighbour's Mega Drive. At age 2.

Used to play a lot of really old Mac games like Myst, Pathways Into Darkness, the Marathon trilogy etc on THIS old thing.

Sensible soccer

Another world was awesome

Gaming you say,i started out fairly early with the NES then mega drive/snes earliest memory has to be mario or a REALLY hard TMNT game which name escapes me
or some Retro story Based pc game at school lol

My first memory of games (outside of arcades that is) was playing some traffic light game on an old Commodore Pet at my middle school. I would have been around 12 I guess so 1982ish?

God I feel old now.

I remember around 1984 Thatcher decided every school should have a computer so our primary school got a Links Machine??? I think it was called..... No one actually used it for programming apart from one of the teachers who made a pirate game that everyone in the whole school would queue up in line to play haha

i recently bought doom 2 for PS1 to play on my dusty PS2. i have a gamecube with a Zelda collection going back to the original

Final fantasy 7 might be old but never grows old. Amazing game, my favourite tbh , waiting for them to announce a remake of it.

Minesweeper on Windows 3.1 F.T.W!

I love the old original playstation games ,.. Hogs of War and Olympic Soccer (Before FIFA exisited) were my 2 favorite to play.

I still have and play original pokemon on my phone and play almost daily .. (rick rolling lvl 2 Pidgey and Rattata with my 90 something Charizard) DEAL WITH IT!

Space Invaders, Pacman, Sonic all amazing timeless games...

Anyone remember Dick Tracy for the Mega Drive .. endless hours of fun!

For those interested, you can currently get Wing Commander III for free on Origin :D

Lets see games I still play from that time period...

Incoming, Star Wars RotJ, X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, Unreal, UT99, Riven. There's more, but these are my favourites :)

first computer ZX81 1kb base mem but did upgrade to wobbly 16kb ram pack

eventually got ZX80 whilst awaiting speccy delivery - jeez what a long wait

years later got microdrives & QL etc.....

Sadly flogged all my stuff when fell on harder times :(

first video game - before Atari VCS 2600 there was numerous Video games

way way overpriced to play tennis & basic shooting the big square dot on screen

some systems you could buy/build from places like Maplin before they hit the high street

The say the first so called arcade video game was by atari - breakout

and it was said they had to repair it in less than 24hrs of installing it

the coin box mechanism broke as it just couldn't handle the amount of cash

rest is history and I'm way too old for this $hit
