Ok, so I just keep going over and over what I want and need for this to work in my head and I keep running into problems regarding compatibility with the parts I already have.

So I'm starting fresh and I'm going to buy all the parts to build the gun from scratch.

What I want is an M16A4 with this body kit/receiver set: http://airsoft-club.com/shop/external-upgr...16-series-gp543

This front end: http://airsoft-club.com/shop/external-upgr...4-m16-aeg-gp598

A standard M16 full stock and a standard M16 pistol grip. I'm also going to get a control unit for the gearbox so it can shoot in "burst" instead of auto.

I know that the RAS and the receiver should mesh fine because they're both TM compatible. Correct me if I'm wrong.

What will I need internally though?

The receiver comes with a hop unit which is the same as the one I already have, I have a barrel and hop rubbers already, I also have a pistol grip and stock already, so my biggest question is, will my G&P gearbox fit into a TM compatible receiver? The fact the hop unit is the same is giving me high hopes, but I can't find anywhere that'll confirm it.

If yes, then I'm saved. If no, then I need to know which gearbox and motor I'll need to get, as well as any other internal parts that I might need that I'm unaware of. (I'm unaware of them if they haven't been mentioned yet, please call them out, however stupid and obvious.)

I want the gun to easily run using an M120 spring, with a ROF of around 800rpm. The internal parts also need to be compatible with this: http://www.redwolfairsoft.com/redwolf/airs...arbox_Ver_2.htm

Can anyone shed any light on any of this for me?

All contributions appreciated.

well i can guarantee that the ASCU will work in basically every V.2 gearbox. best if you use a solid stock and it's rear wired though.

Yeah that's the plan. If my current gearbox can fit in a TM receiver then I'm sorted. Just need to wait for the receiver to be back in stock and then save up until I have enough to buy everything.

If it is a standard size V2 gearbox it should fit right in mate!

Ed, the gearbox will fit the receiver. If it has the same design as TM, the upper receiver has two tabs on it, the lower down to where the rear pin is, holding it in place that way, rather than having the rear pin in the correct position. You no longer need a new gearbox.

Also, the front end you've got there is exactly the same as the one on your gun at the moment, just with different handguards, so why not get the ARES M16 RIS kit from Fire Support? I emailed them, they said it will fit onto the delta rings that are on the G&P M16A3 front end.

I didn't think it was the same. Do you have a link?

Not to that body in particular, but to a TM M4/M16 series disassembly, I believe they're all the same.

I meant the RIS kit lol, I've just looked and I'm sure they're not the same.

It looks like the front end of the Ares one sits ahead of the front sight, there's a big front sight sized hole in the front end.

No it doesn't, the side rails end slightly earlier than the top and bottom rails, like on this. The G&P one is the same http://www.wolfarmouries.co.uk/airsoft/bb/...ct&id=GP598

Ah yah, I see now. I might get that then, does it just come into two pieces and fit in using the delta ring like the regular hand guard?

I think so, Fire Support have said it definitely fits.
