AERA Posted yesterday at 18:44 Posted yesterday at 18:44 Recently saw this and I'm quite excited, is there any demo vids on it?

Not yet, Ares are undoubtedly still collecting pieces off the ground from it exploding 😂 It's only just been announced, and all that is available currently is the technical drawings it seems Nick G, AERA, Galvatron and 1 other 4
AERA Posted yesterday at 20:57 Posted yesterday at 20:57 I'm hoping it'll be any kind of good, don't know the track record with ares but from what you said I'm concerned lol 🫠

Lyndication Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Yeah I really don't trust Ares, who have a track record of making AEGs that shit themselves, to pivot to GBBRs and somehow not make them shit themselves sadly. That said it might be useful to rip the furniture off this and possibly slap it on a VFC, GHK, or TM AK chassis. Remains to be seen.
novioman Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago The ares 686 Co2 revolvers have been o.k, but I know that quite a few owners have had to send them back for replacement.
Lyndication Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago I've seen some of those turn up with the hop installed upside down and video reviews where they just couldn't get them to shoot consistently for the life of them. I'm guessing a few people win the lottery and get a working one probably but I'd rather something that just works. HZR13 1

mightyjebus Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago interesting GBB to be sure but the hate for Ares on here is crazy. I've got a bunch of Ares stuff in my collection and they are a reliable as most other manufacturers. Terrible to take apart as they seem to be designed by a savant drug addict but on the whole not really much worst that others when it comes to reliability. HZR13 1
ButcherBill Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I have 4 Ares rif's and never had any issues with them, but they're wall hangers so I don't feel qualified to really have an opinion. What I can say is I have another 9 wall hangers that have given me issues either through previous owners 'upgrades' or parts compatibility & none of them are ares. Out of the 7 other rifs I've used in game over the past few years only 1 has caused an issue in game due to the motor hight & was a simple fix. I'm sure where there's smoke you'll find fire but ares do seem to get a lot of schtick whether it's warranted or not. Edited 5 hours ago by ButcherBill HZR13 and EDcase 2

They are badly designed, badly manufactured and badly assembled, with poor quality parts. I have had a number of them over the years and am now down to two and only keep those because I cannot get those two guns from any other manufacturer. Austeyr, HZR13, Lyndication and 1 other 4

I'm sure there is some hate toward Ares coming from people on the bandwagon but there is reasonable criticism as Colin alluded to. There are so many unnecessary decisions made in their design department that add to people's grievances such as trying to be edgy by using a clockwise thread on the outer barrel or forcing a vendor lock-in with proprietary gearbox casings based on v2. I happen to own one Ares AEG that has been extremely reliable but when its mosfet or something else in the gearbox goes, finding spares is either going to be really difficult or so expensive that I can just spend the money on or toward something else more modern and serviceable.
