Mmm, I never used to be bothered about MEDs until I started running a BASR and DMR (not at the same time, pedants).  Now all I see is players disregarding MED and ROF, and it never being picked up on by marshals, even when you point it out.  It's a very slippery slope - once you see someone else taking the piss with them, there's always a temptation to get a few metres closer, or twitch your finger a bit quicker.

Well, it was an eventful day. Typical high ROF dude that was pissing people off never letting his finger off the trigger and hosing people down at close range. Kids playing with what seemed like no direct supervision which lead to a few safety issues (leaving mags in guns in safe zone then when reminded to take it out do so and FIRE towards the benches where people were sat) Some douche canoe setting off multibangs in the safe zone too.

Lots of complaining too, my partner was sat in the safe zone all day (she had prep to do for an interview and liked not having a her pc or tv to distract her) and she just loved hearing all the guys coming back from the field moaning about their guns and other players.

For me though, it rained i got hurt, I got shot I got to use my new rifle (although lost the included tools that came with it because FUCK YOU ARES) and enjoyed my day and got absolutely soaked. 10/10 would do again

Myself and 4 of my oppos attended a frozen conflicts (non profit organisers) invite only event at gunman tuddenham about a month ago.

We were part of the invited opfor ~

A 12 man nato special operations force against a 30+ dedicated Russian element.
real cap ammo limits, very credible missions/taskings great mix of milsim/action.

It was one of the best events Iv attended to date, with great props/taskings huge effort put in by the organisers and some attendees.

They have another event organised for mid-late October this year which we’ve all paid our deposit for already!

Can’t wait for the next one at mid wales airsoft.

Had a great day today, running a very light VSR loadout and no ghillie. Had some issues with the HPA system leaking, but the tank lasted until just before lunch where I took it apart and fixed the issue, then switched to co2 for the afternoon. The line came loose where it screws into the bolt, so I just had to tighten that up. Got so many people with the VSR just holding areas and when I started playing aggressively with the mk23 I got loads of people with that by flanking as there were less numbers due to people wimping out due to rain (which all cleared up before the games started anyway).

Also had a lot of success from a stealth perspective, even without the ghillie. Just observing the seven S's of concealment saw a lot of success, as I had people look directly at me multiple times and not know where I was. Scrim net over the head and shoulders, rifle wrapped and staying nice and still made me basically invisible. Paired with both the VSR and mk23 being stupidly silent and I went undetected for most of the day, just posting up and covering a location, then moving if things got too dicey.

Didn't play today, there weren't enough people and the weather is now way too warm to even breathe.

Took the opportunity to check my M4s for next week's tournament and finish my AK, which needed the new Perun v3 installed and the gears short stroked.

Installing the mosfet is relatively easy, some soldering is required (negative battery, positive motor and signal to positive) because it's impossible to have a universal harness for V3s. Two teeth removed from the sector as well.

Programming the unit is a bit of a cunt tbf, the new hybrid has a very convenient LED system that tells you which setting you're fucking with.....too bad that my gearbox is sealed shut lol.

Turned out well, can't wait to use it :)

My airsoft day yesterday was a selling rifs day.

after asking myself some questions about kit , rifs and what I enjoy I now have reduced my  gear to what I use regularly and am willing to carry.

no more filling the car with 4 rifs all with different mags gear just in case.

with three spare at him that didn’t make the cut because it’s too rainy/depends which side of bed I got out of/which way the wind is blowing/didn’t match my camo(what a tart!!!)

Guest Mr. No_Face

Airsoft day on Saturday consisted of me trying out my MP7 Gen 2 with only one mag and coming to the realisation that my M9 Tactical had run it's course. Played an aggressive, "Unga Bunga" style which lead me into multiple tight spots forcing me to engage with my pistol; to which I fumbled pulling from my holster due to the oversized pistol grip and my gloves didn't help much either. Gun stopped locking back on empty so I was firing blanks without realising, consequentially I'm done with this M9.

Besides that, the MP7 gen 2 performed nicely, had one incident where the gun locked up which terrified me. Thought for a second I'd fallen victim to the umarex/VFC curse and had flushed 400 down the toilet. Luckily switching to full auto and back addressed that issue and it never happened again. The aeg fires like a laser, super light and quiet I'd say £400 well spent.....so far......I could still end up regretting it in the long run. One item I most certainly do not regret splurging £400 on is my Ronin TK45c aka (Ronin Keaton). He has never let me down thus far.

Finally, Weather is getting a bit too hot for a plate carrier so I'll be investing in a lightweight harness of some sort and a pair of light, under armour Tactical Duty gloves.

Today started badly.  The (forward wired) battery wire in my main M4 had been pushed back into the body of the rif under the gearbox and stopped the mag from locating when I tried to chrono.  Since I was in a rush, I went to grab my spare M4, only to find the motor spinning away in the grip and not engaging at all.  A bit of thinking sorted the wire out in rif number one, as looking at gnu two, I could see where it is supposed to run.  Extremely simple two second fix but being late and flustered did not help.

The rest of the day went fine.  Good gameplay and lots of sneaking through the undergrowth bumping the other team and seeing who was fastest on the trigger, usually them tbh, as I misidentified a couple of people as friendlies!  A team mate actually stand on me, much to his surprise, as I was sneaking up on a group of players, so at least my camo and fieldcraft must have been on point.

No complicated storylines as ‘rona limits the group carrying etc, but I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay despite some people moaning about non-hit taking.   Marshals coped with the situation really well and had the correct words with a couple of lads.  Lots of running, leaping and shouting followed.

Several girls played today, which is nice to see.  Cold sausages and salad for lunch since I am following the AFUK low carb diet… drank six litres of water in field.  Seriously, I wonder how anyone gets by with a ’56 pattern bottle and bugger all else hydration wise.

The site tech shimmed the motor on gnu two for nix as he is a diamond of a chap.

I kind of wish that I’d made the effort to take a themed loadout, since a few people had done so, but my standard skirmish rig is pretty tried and tested and has evolved through the years.

Went home drenched in sweat with two working guns, a big grin and a strong desire for a G&T.  Good day out.

Monster Energy from the site shop, then malingering after lunch, and going home at 2pm with a thumping headache, is I believe SOP.

i tend to have just the one bottle in the field, then drink plenty inbetween games from a stash in the car.

although the sites i play are generally the kind where you can go back to the car between games.

Had an alright day skirmishing yesterday. Kind of wish that I’d known Tuddenham wasn’t all close quarters as my short G3 was next to useless at the initial woodland ranges.

Unfortunately experienced a fair bit of poor hit taking from the opposition at one point, swiftly sorted by the head marshal which was good.

Not sure it’s a site I’ll venture back to but definitely won’t be the last Gunman event I attend.

Yesterday we played the 1st tournament after covid and I have mixed feelings about it.

Some objectives could have been fun if it wasn't for some defenders who thought it was clever to not call hits despite being drowned in plastic. But what can you do? If the ref doesn't see, the ref can't do anything about it.

Out of 5 objectives, we got the 1st one with about 50% of the points, 2nd was an utter failure (due to the aforementioned player), 3rd was a nice 100% clear, 4th went to shit and 5th we got away with 90% of the points (could have been 100% too but I messed up a small thing at the end).

We ended up being 4th out of 13 teams, not too shabby considering that (literally) half our team was at their first tournament.

The field was crap, really open terrain with little cover for the most part, zero shade, high temperatures and humidity, it was genuinely hard to breathe.

Yep, a couple of 2L bottles of water in the hard respawn, and the one bottle on you is fine.

The way I played Sunday, I got plenty of trips back to the hard respawn...

Today was fun, only 8 people + one observer, played escort the VIP mostly.

My AK decided it was not willing to work so it decided to die on the third game (it has something to do with the mosfet and motor, will mail Perun later), and because I brought the smersh I didn't bring any backup (no, not even a pistol) but nonetheless I had plenty of fun :)

Last Sunday game for this summer, we are switching to Friday nights until the temperatures come down a bit, this morning it was rocking 30°+ which is well over my threshold for heat.

We don't play in the afternoon.

But during my drive home it was hovering around 33/34.

On a side note I found out why the AK stopped working: the mosfet kept overheating and as a result it kept shutting itself off.

I'll crack it open later and check for the cause.

could just be ambient temperature is pushing it over the edge?

never had a mosfet overheat (that wasn't the result of generalised stupidity ie an asg 40k on 11.1v) but then anything double digits is considered decent weather here.

Had a good evening game on Thursday. Couple of guys were really good and as such most of us were back to regen a good few times before we finally got them.

Had a go on a marshall’s TM Hi-Capa gold match - now there’s a nice pistol!

Took my bro-in-law with me and he enjoyed it which was good, may just be able to get him along to a few more games.

Forgot to take my watch off and it took a hit and broke (see what have I learned thread) - that was definitely the low point.

Honestly doubt that.

Okay it was hot today but the mosfet ran completely fine for two mags (AK high caps so it's close to 1k shots) before shutting down the first time, after that it ran for about 350/400 shots then shut off again..

My team tech says it's because the motor draws a lot of amps, but it sounds odd as the e&l m170 motor is essentially a SHS HT and I only run 7.4s 😕 didn't do any magdump either..

All the wires are intact.

I have no clue. I'll have a chat with Jakub at Perun and see what happens.

Took a King arms P90 and an ASG scorpion evo to todays game. One failed take your bets. Both factory new.

...
...
...

The scorpion evo developed a jam in pretty much the first 10 shots and I had no unjamming rod. I also lost the alan key which I used to adjust the hop up.

Meanwhile the KA p90 preformed valiantly fired every single round from the p90 HIcaps everyone seems to hate and got me probably about 10 kills which is a lot for me

Also I ended up dumping my then annoying chest rig and just running a large utility pouch canteen and holster on a simple belt.

Also downed like 5 bottles of water.

I might (definatly) have a cqb itch/bug. Got lots of kills, died lots. Really intense.

Overall a grand day of shooting but my gods why did i decide to red 1 on the day that one of the key crossing of the river is closed and the other major crossing is running at 50% capacity! Ok for those that dont know london, it caused a major shitshow that meant the 90mins tfl told me it would take was really 2.5 hours of near torture.

Had a blast playing yesterday, but my god it was bloody hot and no moving air down in he woods. Went through a bottle of water each game  but started to struggle in the end so called it a day about 3. Took 2 AEG's and my gas L119 A1, AEGs never left the safe zone ! That's 4 consecutive games now where I've only run gas , I love GBBRs and the tactical play they demand but usually mix it up with an AEG . WE haters take note that it hasn't missed a beat in a game and it's had several thousand BBs through it in testing gaming and garden plinking. 5 single mags one double mag and a speed loader and I'm good for a game. One gas fill gives me about 2.5 BB loads per mag . 3 GBBRs on our team yesterday, the noise in the woods was Awesome 😁

Absolutely boiled my tits off yesterday but had a great day. To top it off I took a mate who used to play paintball for his first game and by lunchtime he was a convert

My game yesterday was amazing. Very warm and very sweaty, but we played in an area of the site we never play in, allowing me to use a pathway that only a tiny handful of players (mostly marshalls) know about to plink away at the enemy team with my silent HPA VSR setup and have them scratching their heads wondering where the hell they got shot from / how the hell did someone get behind them in a chokepoint-y game. Arms and legs are covered in scratches bcause I had to fight through thorns to use it as it's super overgrown, but worth it.

Also, I ditched the ghillie a few months ago due to temperatures / humidity / general sweat and eye-pro fogging, but I went one further and only wore a short sleeved OD t-shirt and BDU trousers while sniping and I still had people almost trip over me and be super surprised after I shoot them. Superior fieldcraft trumps a ghillie suit every day of the week and it's good to get the practice without it. Plus it feels even better when you go unnoticed while knowing you're not wearing the best camo. Maybe I'll try it next in a loud hawaiian shirt...

I also ache all over today, which means it was a good day!
