Hi,

Was looking at purchasing this sight: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00FWLW3FW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=A38YV9ZPUEM9U9&psc=1

Then using this protector: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tactical-QMFIVE-Shooting-Protector-Foldable/dp/B06XZR34YH/ref=pd_bxgy_3/258-0770023-6172357?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B06XZR34YH&pd_rd_r=5b2faf8e-5b48-4029-a250-03fd9c9d73de&pd_rd_w=1yESv&pd_rd_wg=D1qMi&pf_rd_p=dcf35746-0212-418b-a148-30395d107b2d&pf_rd_r=KEPRF6GJZSX6VE6V3J5F&psc=1&refRID=KEPRF6GJZSX6VE6V3J5F

However, apparently the protector can shatter very easily. So I was thinking about using polycarbonate to make a protector to fit the size required and use that instead as something that can take more hits in CQB. Problem is I don't know anything about it. So found these methods:

Just double checking I'm not making a major mistake before I go ahead and buy.

Thanks all,

James

Hey chap,

You can low key sort it easier.

I got some flat normal plastic. Cut it and heat bent some prongs and 8 years later.

My real eotech is still intact.

Mine didn't shatter, but the lens ripped right off.  You could throw some washers on there, but I agree that DIYing it with polycarb is the way to go, since then you know what you've got.  2mm is more than sufficient for airsoft use.  A jigsaw will cut it easily.

A bit late but just came to say that it withstood many a direct hit well, a lot cheaper than getting those little plastic flip  up protectors every time. Would definitely recommend.
