This is a review of the Galaxy MP5K as stock.

MP5K BY GALAXY - SERIE MP5 - Airsoft shop, replicas and military clothing

Pros:

It's super cheap.

Very light.

310fps out of the box.

Comes with a 200 round hi-cap, a usable NimH battery and a burn-your-house-down charger.

You can HK-slap it.

Very nearly as handy as a pistol, with very nearly a carbine's range.

Works well in CQB or as a sniper-secondary, if you've got the drop on your target.

Takes pretty much any generic MP5 magazine: high, mid or real cap.

The V3 gearbox is solid, and has no inherent issues.

Will hop 0.25g.

The full-auto ROF isn't too bad.

Cons:

The fire-selector is sloppy, and wants flipped to full them back to semi in order to click in.

Might just barely hop 0.28g, but don't bet on it.

The push-pull lever hop unit loves to slacken off, and needs tightening up, or cable tie the hop-arm to the barrel.

Very plastic, lots of ping in the spring, and creak-and-flex in the foregrip.

"Very-nearly" isn't the same as same as exactly. It's not quite a pistol, nor quite a carbine.

If you HK-slap, the HK-slap will break sooner rather than later.  Just bin it and fit a decent long lipo down the tube.

The stock motor is very weak, and the delay between pulling the trigger and shooting the BB can be put on your calendar.

A long, lonnnnnnnnng trigger pull, which isn't trivial to sort out.  In combination with the insipid motor, this means that you'll never win a CQB face-off.

Overall:

You can have a ton of fun with this very cheap, light toy gnu out of the box.

It can be upgraded, but the trigger pull and semi-auto response will remain problematic.

Lipo, mosfet and a decent long-shaft motor will sort most of the cons, except for the trigger response.

Should you though?:

At the price, sure.  Loads of laughs for the money.
