Hello guys.

I Hope My question Will be propper and understandable, but I am New and dont know much yet. Bare with me.

I found My old airsoft, marui g3a3. It has taken a beating, but I would like to restore it. There are however 2 main problems.

The bottom of the pistolgrip got lose, and the gears started to grind due to a not fully pushed in motor.

So the motors gear is wrecked, and the pistolgrips bottom has broken screws.

Marui Part No.G-4BLK (Pistol Grip) For Marui G3 Series (Black)

The pistolgrip doesnt seem to be in stock anywhere. I can find newer versions, but doubt they fit.

So i guess we have to make a fix somehow. I would print it if i could find it.

The second part is the motor. It has No info on speed or power. I would like to replace it, but dont know with what.

Any info or suggestion iswelcome.

Thanks in advance.

Peter

The LCT pistol grip might fit, At £15 it's worth a gamble since it's a UK shop selling it.

As for the motor. You can pretty much pick what you want within reason.

If you want a cheap all round one then the AK2M4 16 or 22tpa would be reasonable. 16 been faster but if you are running 11.1v lipo's I'd probably go 22tpa.

The motor is also a D type pinion, So you could just pick up the pinion gear.

You will have to inspect the rest of the gears to make sure there is no damage.

As a pistol grip fix I would try this: (got nothing to loose)

- Scratch up the area of the screw mounts with a knife or rough sand/glass paper.  (The better you do this the better chance it  will hold)

- Thoroughly clean and de-grease it.

- Coat the screws with thin layer of grease and screw into the holes a little way just so they hold. (not all the way in)

- Using small strips of kitchen towel soaked in super glue, apply layers to broken area like paper machee around the exposed screw until it looks strong enough (probably 6-10 layers?).  The strips should be long enough to go around the screw mount and onto the flat area either side.

- Allow to dry thoroughly

As for motor, as Iceni said, its a common motor type. (AK2M4 sells quality stuff so that's  a good bet)

Just look for LONG type motors and get the one you like.

Some things I would add to any shopping list if the gun has been sat a while.

Hop rubber - £10
M90 - M100 main spring - £5
Piston O-ring. - £2

AK2M4 has you covered here.

It just means you have the best chance of getting the gun up to spec whilst it's in bits. for the sake of spending under £20 it's well worth the extra spent.

I did something like this for a customers gun a few years back, it's still holding nice and strong.  I filled the screw holes with JB Weld and then when semi-dry screwed in the screws, creating the thread

Check the Systema pinion gear very closely - it might not be a D type...

They tend to use bespoke O type pinions with a grub screw in it - ffs Systema

The shaft on some armatures are O type but has a tiny area cut like the D to accept the grub screw

So a std D type pinion won't slide onto the O type shaft - FFS x 2 Systema WTF x 4

Getting one of them pinions is like looking for rocking horse shit & if you do locate one it won't be a few quid

now "some" might use a proper D type but pretty sure most Systema's use/used a bespoke O type with grub screw pinion

other Systema's...

Systema "A to Z" AEG Motor Released | [PT]Airsoft

or blue Systema's...

Systema Turbo Motor (Medium) for PSG-1/SG550/SG551 <font color ...

So check very closely the end of motor, I think it might be a O type with grub screw than regular D type grub screw

In which case the motor is likely wanked as it is....

(could maybe clean it up, trim the axle make a medium/short systema high speed motor with a O type pinion)

So likely look at new motor, the motor was likely a 35k ferrite, but there are a few revision of speed/turbo fast motors

(think red torquey/magnum's systema had neodym magnets - still fucking expensive Jap motors though, no longer stocked)

Might want the 16tpa motor to kinda match performance of a Systema High Speed

the same" high performance" label is applied to your motor & the blue turbo so fuck know which high speed systema this chart refers to exactly - assume a 30~35k motor perhaps, though probably a bit knackered...

Systema turbo vs systema magnum motor - Airsoft Ohio Forums

Old motor, some had shortage risks and fucking expensive, though windings soldered on to arm etc...

So a precision built motor, not cheap, slight shortage risk....

and a wanky bespoke pinion gear looks like a D but is in fact an O type with grub screw

(so you gotta buy Systema bespoke pinions of course - crafty sods)

Drevil, if you need a spare G3 pistol grip please let me know. I have a few left from old projects which you are welcome to have.

I would love to buy one if possible! Since the 3D-print we are doing wont be pretty, at all, but only effective.
Are they like the ones up top? Since there is a new version of them :)

I love the astetics of the gun, and would love to make it look like new :)

I am from Denmark though, so will gladly pay for shipping and more!
