Airsoft world issue

Ordered a northeast sten from airsoft world yesterday.

Had an issue with my Ukara number postcode not matching, which is now sorted.

Only to be then told that they haven't actually got them yet.

Screenshot, just, of their page.

There's nothing to suggest that they are not in stock.

I've wanted a gbb sten for years, but I'm pretty annoyed. It's 400 odd quid I've paid for something I assumed was in stock, to be told they don't know when they'll arrive.

Not happy really.

IMO - Ask for a refund! Unacceptable behaviour, but it does mean you won't get your Sten. Not that you were going to get it soon, anyway.

I would also watch Neo365 review of them (WW2 French Dude on YT).  It doesnt seem to be the best operating GBBR out there but granted is the only option for a Sten.  Max range was around 30m so not skirmishable in my book

I'll give that a look, although I've heard some good things first hand too.

Genuinely annoyed, though, they are the only UK stockist, but I'm debating the refund just out of principal.

Also, there's the potential of it being weeks or months yet. I don't preorder stuff, I think it's too risky.

Depends, shit that they advertise it as in stock & it's not, but can they give you a reasonable guaranteed timeframe for getting one in ? (& Something extra for your trouble), as if you get it refunded you know it'll be burning a hole in your pocket & you'll blow it on something else that you'll later realise you didn't really "need" 🤔

No they can't give a time frame, which makes me think it could be a way off. The first version was delayed by months.

Rogues. Refund, now.  I'd go ahead and start the credit/debit card chargeback as well, for purely pragmatic reasons - you can cancel it at any time.

Called, asked for refund. 3-5 working days.

Great.

Pretty fucked off tbh. I won't be using them again. It's headlined on their homepage and plastered on Facebook, "in stock and shipping now" .

Genuinely sad that this once great retailer seems to have gone downhill.

Bear in mind that this is the outfit that sells and accepts a fake defence, because if you want a RIF but can't adduce a real defence, they want to sell one to you for a £20 premium.

Just watched the review that Neo365 does on the Sten. Looks amazing, fires worse than a BB in a straw. If you watch the shooting section carefully you can see the BBs flying out in all directions, sometimes dropping quickly, sometimes turning hard left, the odd straight one, a couple of moon rockets heading for space. Disappointing as it was on my radar as I love the Sten gun.

I am sure someone with more knowledge than me could tweak and fettle and get it to shoot OK but as the saying goes 'Rolling a turd in glitter doesn't stop it being a turd'. Still it would be a good project and it still looks cool.

@Cromulon1994 Shame about the delivery but glad you got a refund without too much chasing.

Yeh I was looking at getting one too, who knows if this is just issues related to the Mk1, maybe the Mk2 is better?  Not seen any reviews of it though.

@Cromulon1994 - Apologies for the delay. These arrived in the warehouse yesterday. Unfortunately these were marked as in stock incorrectly, which would have been fine if the shipment had arrived when it was meant to. The STEN's arrived yesterday and we have now dispatched all pre-orders.

Apologies that this fell below the expected standard and that we were unable to clarify further when you contacted us.

We understand your frustration and appreciate your honest feedback of the situation that unfolded. We aim to do better in the future.

Many thanks,

The Airsoft World Team

Maybe he dodged the proverbial "bullet" with the stock issues ?

So, to their credit they have been in touch, they got to airsoft world not long after I'd posted this, and mine has been sent out.

Though an order I placed Saturday has arrived and is not the gun I ordered, they're aware but it's not the best impressions I've had of a retailer.

In regards to them shooting a bit poor, I had an escort mp5 that took 2 tanks of air and a bottle of bbs to start shooting correctly, and after that it was amazing.

They look very simple and I'm prepared to faff with one.

And I only play indoor cqb really.

How does this explain the advertising of them as in stock and ready to ship on FB?

@EvilMonkee -  I've just checked through to see which post that could have been. It may have been an earlier post. However our most recent post about the STEN's was 25th October.

"#WWII #airsoft #STEN MKII by #northeast. First batch sold out in 38 hours. New shipment arriving on the 10th November. Now accepting pre-orders for this next delivery."

Unfortunately the 10th of November, which was to be the delivery date wasn't met.

@RobHedley & @Cromulon1994 I've used one of these Stens and I have to say that my experience is that they shoot more than 30M! The one I had was firing 50-60M easily, though I did lift the barrel and hop out (easy to do) and clean everything in hot, soapy water before use. These  have real oil on them like the real thing so I was taking no chances!! Oh, it looks like a bog standard VSR hop rubber too :)

Good to hear.  Whats the mags like for retaining gas?

@Jedi_Mastercan an admin double check this brand new posters IP address and compare it to Airsoft Worlds?  Call me suspicious but I am a copper afterall...

@My Tuppence Worth - As far as I'm aware this isn't one of us. I spent long enough trying to remember the password / username combo that it would have been easier to setup a new account though. We will read threads, but have up until now not replied.

For us, this is an acceptance that this instance should not have happened and warranted a reply and an official apology.

 @EvilMonkee

Much better gas usage on semi and can chill fast on full-auto. Seals seem fine though be warned - I almost destroyed one of mine by taking the mag apart. They are well machined and the seals quite thin and uniquely shaped. Seems to retain the gas quite well when not in use but boy, they are heavy if you're not used to a lightweight AEG mag :D   STEN bandoleer for weight training anyone?

And yes, I do work for AW as a technician though this is my personal account that was set up back in October, before this issue arose. As I am not addressing the issue @Cromulon1994 had but the range and usage of the STEN from my own experience, I honestly don't see where the relevance is? There are few of us that have or have used one of these, so where else can the info come from?

@airsoftworld Fair play and well done for stepping up to the plate and accepting that something went wrong and that you have fixed it with no agro. Not a lot of online shops will do that so thumbs up from me 👍
