Game Scenarios

Interested to hear what some of your favourite game scenarios are, what game have you played once or twice that you wish was done more or if any of you have a game scenario you've thought of that you would like to see played.

Personally I've had an idea of a "sniper hunt" game for a while that I would like to see played out. The idea is pretty simple so long as you have the numbers of Snipers and DMRs present to play. Say for example you have 50 players on site and at least 7 or 8 snipers/DMRs (10 ideally), but you then send them off to get dug in somewhere and take up position. The remaining 4/5 (approx.) of players then divide into smaller 4 or 5 man teams and head out to hunt the snipers in a simple elimination game. The hunters can get medic twice, and the third time they are shot they are out. The snipers however are on a one hit and out rule.

No idea if that would work, and Im sure the rules might need tweaking if it were trialled, but Id like to find out. Think it could make it interesting for the snipers as they could potentially shoot a player and wait to try and pick off anyone going to medic said player, or see if teams might have to try and eliminate the sniper in the area first without themselves getting shot before helping a downed team mate. Has anyone here already played a game scenario like this or something similar?

I like the sounds of that game scenario. Would force players to be a lot more tactical and stealthy instead of rushing around like lunatics emptying a hi-cap in all directions

I'd give that a go!

Have played a similar game a while ago at my home site , you had a team of six snipers head out and everyone else had to hunt them down . Only thing was the team of six ACTUALLY knew what they were doing in the role unlike most players who claim the sniper role , who quite frankly haven’t a clue what the role actually involves , just having an L96 and wearing a Wookiee suit does not a sniper make ! 🤦‍♂️

Needles to say it was a massacre , the snipers were picking the ‘hunters’ off left right AND centre ! 😂  only got them all in the end as a few of the older more ‘experienced’ players sort off hung back and watched where we thought the shots were coming from as they picked off the young keen run ahead type players ! 😈😈

A game I came up with that worked quite well was based on a downed pilot .

Scenario ;

Pilot hidden on the site , 1pistol 2x mags or an MP5 with 1x mag.

1x 10man team set out to rescue the pilot , either together or split in to smaller teams .

Rescue team know exact location of the pilot , the enemy forces don’t know his location plus they don’t know the RT start point either .

RT Objective ;

recover the pilot and get him to a set location on the site for evac that you know but again the enemy have no idea where It is .

Enemy objective ;

capture the pilot preferably alive , then get him to a location they know but the pilot and RT don’t for a very messy public trial for being an enemy of the glorious workers paradise of ‘shitholeastan’ .

And kill the RT for the above reason ! 👍

Played the sniper hunt game with 3 snipers and about 10 hunters.  Was good but a bit annoying as its really a reactive scenario where you have to listen out for sounds of their firing. Plus ghillie suits are terrible for hit detecting.

I like the pilot one and that could be done with an object that both teams need to find and then get to a location only they know about.  2 people would need hands on to move it.

Like the sound of the downed pilot game a lot. Played a similar(ish) game at my local site once, but not as well planned or thought out as that.

I understand exactly what you mean with regards the sniper hunt game you played, and I can totally see that happening. Its just one of the local sites I play at I think would be perfect for such a game, and with a bit of tweaking and trial and error could make for a pretty awesome game.

Personally i'm a fan of push style games, where 1 team is defending and has to fall back either 1 life per zone or 30 steps back with no returning forward. Makes the game flow nicely with a sometimes frantic defence making for some excellent gameplay.

We've done hunt the sniper games before, rules were attackers 1 life and your out, snipers get a spotter and same 1 life and theyre out. We had 4 snipers with their paired spotter making for 8 out of 40.

It would have went very well if it hadn't been for the site layout having an island in a field that was a snipers paradise, well, that and one of the snipers was a mate of mine and i knew exactly what his gun was capable of (well, i thought i did until he pinged me).

The one thing i absolutely despise is unlimited respawn games- guaranteed grind to a halt in a boring stalemate. I like it when there's some movement built into the game.

I did have an idea for an extended push style game with a vip element:

Take one member of "defenders" as a vip for attackers to escort

Defenders on a 30-step back no return, attackers 30 steps back but can then attack again

Vip must do as he's told as long as the attackers keep one hand on him (no running)

If the guy escorting the vip is shot/lets go vip can leg it to his own team, attackers can shoot him to make him hold position for 10 seconds

If the vip makes it to his own team and tags back in game flips on its head, defenders can now push forward and attackers cant (marshall will blow a whistle so everyone knows)

The end game is basically once you get to the end of the game zone for the attackers, or if the game is flipped back to the start point.

Idea is it should encourage an ambush style gameplay- defenders need to focus their fight on getting the vip back to their lines.

Never had the chance to try it, i suspect the rules might be a bit complex

That sounds interesting but yeah, maybe a bit complex.  Would be interesting to play and refine it.

I'm not a fan of the 'Advance & Secure' or 'Push' games unless there are multiple attack angles and plenty of cover for sneaky approaches.  Constantly attacking a stronghold from one direction is soooooo boring.

I think you can break down all game types into 3 basic modes:

1) Attack/Defend - Variations include one base, multiple or fallback.

2) TeamAttack - As with 'Pilot' scenario, 'Bomb' or 'Capture the Flag'. Teams fight over movable target to get it to a certain point. eg in your base for the Pilot or enemy base for the Bomb.

3) TeamDefend - This would include 'Juggernaut' where both teams hide from the Juggernaut but his allegiance can be switched by hitting a trigger point.

This could also include the sniper hunt where multiple snipers attack both teams and the team who eliminates most snipers wins.

Or 'Hunters' where small group of Hunters eliminate hiding players who then join the hunt.

The main variables for all games are the respawn/healing rules.

There's a balance between making a game interesting but not too complicated.

Then you’d love the three base game we play at Cribbs , you’ve got two teams one attacking one defending , there’s 2 sub ground heavy concrete ammo bunkers that are ruffly 60ft by 50ft , both have a dog leg corridor with a couple of rooms off of it .

third base is an above ground riggly tin bunker come kill house , all within 20 or so ft of each other and if your in the attacking team you have to be carful as you can be engaged from the kill house whilst your attacking the 2 bunkers . Defenders are split between the 3 bases , you get killed in one base you move too another when killed in all 3 your out (unless it’s fallen before you reach it) . Attackers have unlimited resporns back at a sporn point a fair old walk away so it takes a bit off time to get back in to play . Once 2 of the bases are taken then no more lives and it’s dead and out . It’s a quick turn around fastest team taking the 3 bases wins game . Average game time is around the 10-15min mark , Fastest time on record is 2min 35sec . It was a relatively quiet game day around 35-40’ish players on each team attackers split in to 3 teams (this particular game day there was a lot of the old regular players and there was a fair few ex-forces as well) So three teams simultaneous attacks on the 3 bases loads of grenades going in AND being followed up fast (one of my biggest bug bears in Airsoft , players NOT following up a grenade breach) and boom job done ! Have to say that day I was absolutely buzzing was one of those real rare days where there’s no bitching/moaning/shouting of non-hit taking or general complaining of any kind .

you know the ones , the ones that keep you going ? 👍

Sounds like fun, must admit i do wish we had more sites round my way with old bunkers and the like.

Few years back we had a shoot at an old ta base which was completely overgrown, felt like chernobyl. Shame it's been bought out now :(

Yup, great fun that. Although it does rely on the attacking team getting on with it for it to be interesting. A couple of Sunday’s ago it took the attackers 30mins odd to clear out the bunkers, we were all in the last bunker like “where are they?” And “why aren’t we dead yet?” 😂

Down in the centre of Bristol there’s a wicked indoor CQB site (simply called “Bristol Airsoft”) that I play at. It’s in an old law courts, a two storey building with cells in the basement and court rooms and halls on the ground floor.

We we played a great game scenario there the other day where one team had their guns confiscated and put in a safe room and were then locked in the cells downstairs and two “guards” from the defending team were downstairs guarding them. The rest of the defending team were upstairs. Object of the game was simple, bust out of the cells, kill the two guards, get your rifles back and get upstairs and escape to the front door. Everyone had one life except the two guards who were allowed to respawn upstairs once after they’d died downstairs.

It worked well, we smuggled grenades into the cells to kill the two guards then methodically worked through the upstairs picking off the defending team before getting to the exit. 😎

I liked the Juggernaut game but it is pretty hard on whoever is playing the Juggernaut .

The Juggernaut must have lots of fire power to be effective with snipers doing the head shots to stop him shooting for a ten second count with a player having to touch him to turn his attack to the opposition.

I have seen some amazing runs by people! They have to contend with him coming back to life and shooting them or the opposing team trying to shoot them.

As an old player even I enjoy having a go mostly laughing to hard to be effective.

I think the most fun game I've ever played was a simple piss-take wind down game at the end of the day, an Airsoft version of trouble in terrorist town. For those of you unfamiliar with TTT (GMod game usually ), basically at the start of the game everyone stands in a circle. Eyes closed heads down,  marshals pick a number of players at random to be the "terrorists" by tapping them on the shoulder as they walk past. The people picked then look up when told to know who they are. Once they've been picked (usually 2-4 depending on total number, we had a group of about 30 playing) everyone looks up and the round starts. The idea is those chosen have to kill everyone else, without being found out by the others. Which leads to much hilarious banter and accusations of who's the terrorist and who isn't. If a non terrorist executes another non terrorist both players are out to ensure they can't just kill everyone consequence free. I've probably explained it poorly but it was absolutely brilliant fun

Had a few incarnations of ttt, kinda hard to implement right.

We've tried the when shot call out your type (innocent/traitor) and if its an innocent kills you he's out instead. But it doesnt work too well.

Problem is folk tend to revert too quickly to deathmatch, although we did have one round where i was traitor trying to mellee kill everyone while an innocent went crazy and kept everyone distracted. Sadly i got shot out by someone who apparently doesnt recognise mellee kills.
