Cameras: Where to find a genuine SJCAM SJ4000? Mounts?

Hello all.

I am looking at recording some of my gameplay for the site reviews.

Looking at a basic camera setup and came across the SJ4000 as a good pick for the casual airsofter.

There are plenty of inferior copies out there, can anyone tell me where they got their one from?

I want to mount it on my Airframe helmet on the front mount, can anyone recommend a mount?

If someone can recommend a picatinny mount that would be great for some gun footage too.

Cheers ;)

I have a FAST replica helmet. When i bought my SJCam4000 it came with a load of mounts. I had to use a belt sander (though cutting or hand sanding would do it) to reduce the size of the mounting plate by about 3mm in length and width, as a result though the mount does not click in and out so i superglued the mount onto the helmet.

Works for me but obviously when you've not the camera screwed onto the mount you look like some sort of camouflaged rhino with special needs.

There are loads of guides on the net about how to spot the fake SJCams. Here is a very detailed guide:

And here it looks like SJCam have started coding the boxes so you can do a check on their website to see if what you're buying is genuine:

I have an FMA airframe helmet which is prolly the same one you have, I 3D printed this badboy: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2757700 it holds the camera upside down which stops the camera pitching forwards under it's own weight and filming your feet. a common shortfall of bottom mounted holders.

Alas I am trying to buy online so I couldn't trust just photos off of Ebay or Amazon. I am hoping to find someone who has purchased this from a reputable seller and tell me who they were!

I am guessing there is nothing off the shelf I could grab? I do not have access to a 3D printer.
