I think is this day an age cyberbullying is such a big thing that a lot of people have become hypersensitive to it.

I think the line comes when someone shows they don't like it. Just because it is fine for some of us doesn't mean it is fine for all and we should respect that.

I had a quick read of that thread and agree none of it was overly viscous to me but then I am not him. If he wants it deleted then the mods should respect that and do it.

I am just glad with how much I fucked up when young bookface, Instagram and stuff was not around because I doubt I could of handled the scrutiny and ridicule some put up with.

i think the line of cyber bullying is when you start following people around the internet, sue we baited him here in a thread he posted, but i for one haven't followed it up by spamming his youtube account or tracking down his social media.

That’s because there’s no real consequence for giving people shit on the internet. It’s very easy to give people abuse with no effort. Having said that, how people get so upset by words baffles me.

A bit of banter (hate that fucking word) is all good fun to me. Take the piss out of me and I’ll just laugh and do the same back. It’s one of the best things about the internet. If you can’t take some light hearted digging then I’ve no sympathy for you. You clearly can’t handle the real world and should be sterilised to stop your weak genes from reproducing.

People need to remember that the young generation are growing up in a world where through social media everything they do is put on trial and judged, that in itself sometimes creates a harsher world than those growing up 20/30 years ago had to deal with. The old adage of sticks and stones is bullshit in todays society. People are self harming and killing themselves over verbal bullying everyday and the internet makes it harder for them to escape from it.

And this, honestly, is why we're sinking faster than the fucking titanic.

Not in the mood to write a wall of text to explain right now..

I'll just leave it here: we're giving more credit to a bunch of code lines rather than real flesh and a soul.

As for the "£700 SWAT loadout" meme.

It's ok to show your kit and you should be happy about it, but the purpose of that thread wasn't exactly clear.

Did he want to boast having dumped money on it? Was that a help request instead? Nobody knows and probably never will unless the dude comes here to explain. But he should accept critics as they are what makes you improve.

Skara out.

Anyone who complains about the younger generation needs reminding a well known Greek philosopher once complained that young people had it too easy because the invention of paper took away the struggle of writing on a slate and would result in then not bothering to remember anything

There's a whole social media scene that I feel like I'm too old to understand.

The making of a video to show off or review something is something I would never do, I would also never take a picture of a meal and slap it up for all my mates to see.

This generation sees nothing wrong with doing that, but I feel the guy who posted the £700 loadout, didn't account for the average age of airsofters that use a forum.

I would imagine the user base of active posters to be over 25. There are some younger ones that fall into the current generation of social media users, but by large the userbase will be older. That age difference is the thing we are picking up on. Your man with the loadout is making a video to impress his mates and the youtube generation. He made the fatal mistake of thinking the forum would be on his wavelength.

It also doesn't help the fact that as older players we know the difference between cheap, and functional. His loadout wasn't that bad, it was just well overpriced and not something to shout about. If he'd spent the same money on a Flecktarn KSK or Russian Gorka-4 there would have been far less backlash, as we all think that gear is cool. And it would have probably cost the dude a lot less money!

Give this man a cookie 🍪! Spot on bud .

youve hit the nail on the head for me ,  ignoring all the millennial/snowflake/cupcake/etc name calling it’s a fact no matter how much some won’t like it but a very large chunk of ‘younger social media users’ are very thin skinned and shallow and just can’t take any kind of criticism at all .

Thank god my two teenage boys most definitely sail there own course and couldn’t give a monkeys about any off it (my oldest once said to me I don’t care about there approval, I get that from my mates)  , and my youngest who has a very highly developed sense of right from wrong also showed this to me when some scrotum in school started on-line bullying a girl in his class he confronted him face to face and apparently the little piss stain shit him self and ran sniveling home to mummy ! 😂

Perhaps my take on the whole thing is a bit scued on the subject as I’ve only got my two to go buy as examples of ‘modern youth’ but I do think a lot of guys out there do need to “man the fuck up” .

There's a lot I could write about that statement. I agree with it, but only in certain instances.

A better phrase is "You've got to piss with the cock you got".

It's pointless trying to please everyone, and it's ridiculous not to expect criticism, and the odd total burn. That feeling of Ahh shit I fucked it that comes right after. If you can't defend your actions and motivation then you've failed the first rule of life.

It's not wrong to be wrong.

The problem is Airsoft is dominated by the youth. And the youth are whining, pathetic, self obsessed cry babies who take offence  at everything. (As you’ll now undoubtedly see😂)

I must ask as what constitutes as youth in this case. I am 16 and don't believe I have any of these undesirable qualities. However, I know where you are coming from.

Just read the thread and watched the video including the ones @L3wisD posted and now have a terminal airsoft related disease.

Everyone wants to be insta/you/face famous these days without any of the prowess, skill or hard work and when they do post a video that doesn't match the standards of what people expect from videos these days its understandable to get the piss ripped out of you.

On the point of people being harsh in the comments, I honestly don't see anything more than a light ribbing but maybe my skin is thicker than some that have commented or its just how I'm reading it. For the ones that say people are keyboard warriors and wouldn't say things to peoples face 99% of the time I would have to agree.

For the OP of the video I think @Druid799 is just jealous that you've stolen his load-out and his cushion covers.

That’s a new phrase on me , and i like it , there are times when someone really does need to grow up but you do need to be a bit more fourth right with them , but you need something not quite as harsh  as MTFU ?

I think everyone deserves a second chance to make a first impression, especially online where intent isn't always clear no matter how many emoticons you throw at it.

Hmm. I'm either mellowing in my old-middle age, or have suffered a minor stroke.  Why does everything taste purple?

Did you hear about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's Green New Deal?  It'll deliver zero emissions and free healthcare and education and empty prisons and end inequality and provide lucrative jobs-for-life for anyone who wants one and endless free money for those who don't.  It's all making perfect sense to me now!  Don't you see?  Don't you see?

two adages I "try" to live by

"if you cant say nothing nice, don't say nothing at all" (thanks Thumper)

"just because you can, doesn't mean you should"

works for me 99% of the time, or at least until the 1% pushes my buttons, then its game on lol.

I hate the term "banter". As some one that worked in the casino industry for nearly 20 years I hated when some utter wank puffin used to get called to account for there behaviour and their excuse was almost always, " Its only a bit of banter". How ever  I also think that 99% of the time, most comments on here are not necessarily malicious but it is hard to tell as writing doesnt always come across as its ment too. As for younger people, I think that a thick skin develops over time. It certainly did with me.... And I'm now 40!

For me this is a classic example of how it’s been turned away from what the term is describing to be used instead as an excuse for shit behavior . I’m a great believer that it’s not possible to have ‘a bit of banter’ between strangers , friends yes but strangers ? no unless there’s a mutual interest airsofting for example , we’ve all joined a forum based around a single sport so we all have that shared connection so yes I think you can have banter on here with someone you don’t personally know . Plus as has been said on many many occasions no matter how innocent a comment may have been intended when it's the written word and NOT the spoken word it’s so easy to misconstrued the feeling behind it .

Exactly. Some of the best most offensive( in a good way) banter is with people I'm mates with. Even some I'm not overly familiar with you can hear the inflections  in their voice and see which way its going. As you said the way its now used by people as an excuse that annoys me. In real life I mean...... I'll just shut up....

I am certainly using that on someone this week! Got me crying in my chair with that.

The problem these days is most people feel so entitled to their own opinion and because the people who don't give a crap generally don't give a crap and leave them alone, then they feel over-entitled to that opinion and feel like what they say/do/share actually matters to the general public and it should be broadcast. This leads to some weirdly mutated over inflated ego and when someone finally does say "really?" then it's like a balloon bursting with all of the toys going out of the pram simultaneously.

Is that guys £700 load out worth less than say someone else's £1500 load out? Probably not if both have worked hard and value their time. Difference is maturity and etiquette and not trying to ram it down other peoples throats that you've paid for what you term "a lot" for but either way don't devalue your disposable income as it's difficult enough to get into the black.

We all love having shiny new toys in airsoft but as @Nicky blue eyes so eloquently has termed it, don't be an utter wank puffin about it.

I would argue that everyone is entitled to their opinion, its really how/when that opinion is shared that matters and of course wither its an educated opinion or not.

As an example... take the latest offerings from Mr Trump. He has an opinion that Global Warming is a fallacy and that just because they get super cold weather that this is evidence that it is indeed a fallacy, although at one point he admitted that it might be real but that its not expedited by human civilisation.

I would say he is entitled to his, wrong, opinion but he shouldn't be spouting that tripe in the face of empirical evidence and certainly not be basing policy on it.

As for 'utter wank puffin'... my favourite is 'Cock wombling thunder cunt', which is pretty much how I would describe that man, lol

To this I too agree however the real "education" is learning when to and if it should be expressed.

Trump would have more money than sense if he went bankrupt.
