Hello All

Is there an answer to loosing your last bbs when you change mags the best I've found is the Nuprol metal stanag  M4 with a lose of 2 bbs the mag is nice and tight which i prefer as looser ones tend to feed poorly and drop more bbs,its quite depressing watching them hit the ground when I'd rather be putting them to better use shooting someone, just hoping for some imput from you lovely people.

Thank you for your time

No real answer apart from guns and mags that fire until totally empty... But what's the difference between dropping a couple per mag or having a couple of no hit shots?

The reason you lose a couple in most aegs is the feed 'pipe' part of the hop assembly, there's no pressure keeping them in there apart from the following rounds.

Turn the gun upside down for the mag change. ;)

Winking aside, I do this when target shooting in the garage.  You are indeed not losing them from the mag, but from the hop unit feed tube.  With an M4 magwell adaptor extending a G36 feed, I can easily drop half a dozen BBs per change otherwise.

You could fit a MAXX hop unit. That has a little spring loaded lever that holds the BBS in the feed tube during mag changes. When you go back to the safe zone you just poke a finger up into the magwell and release the lever to empty the hop.

I always lose 3-4 from each AK mag.   Its deffo from the hop chamber.  TBH its not a bad thing cos it should mean you only have 1 in the pipe so if you were a numpty and let one off in the safe zone the damage is going to be minimal rather than a full burst

Buy a gas gun and join the cool table 😎

the MAXX hop is a good option for standard AEG’s. Besides that, there’s not a lot you can do without buying a recoil/ERG

Thank you all for the quick response I've seen a G&G mag that apparently feeds every BB so I'll look into that and post any results I'm not keen at all though the new TM MTR 16 is sexy as hell.I've got a CYMA 068c on the way as a project gun then next year its a P&J M249 para as a support role appeals to me

Thanks again for your time and imput

Classic army metal mid caps are the best for me , fit and work in all my STANAG gatts and they feed every round well worth the money .

Eh?  It'd have to poke a stick up the feed tube. 😕

It pretty much does! It's got a long (and delicate) extended follower.

You can see it about 1:40 in

Christ, 2 BBs per mag, that is going to start adding up the expense of playing the game.  If you use 15 mags per skirmish day that means losing minimum of 30 BBs. At that rate after only 100 mag changes you will have used up a whole bottle BBs (using  0.25g Blasters is approximately £7). I am now going to look on eBay to see if there are any bags specifically designed to catch BBs, the initial outlay to buy this BB collection bag should soon pay for itself in no time.

This begs the question of a conspiracy between the magazine designers and the BB manufacturers. Maybe it is time to check the deep web and see what the hell is going on...

Let’s not forget the length of that extended follower is taking up the space of the BB’s you would have lost. So it won’t loose any bb’s but you can’t fit those extra 3 BB’s in, in the first place 😂

You can be tracked by the trail you leave behind? I don’t think Ray mears is at your Airsoft site picking up 2 BB’s in a million, sniffing them and saying “StayOnTarget went this way *sniffs again* maybe 3 minutes ago..”

I always lose a few from the hop chamber, and one from the mag

Please tell me you’re taking the piss.

Also so if you’re worried about the cost of loosing a few BBs on a mag change I think you may be in the wrong sport 😂

Due to all the money I loose on fallen bbs my sweat is transferred onto them and as such can be picked out easily from the vagillion bbs on the ground by a certain May Smears who frequents a site I go to.........

I saw an interview with Bear Grylls a few years ago, when asked if he could chose any one thing to take with him when being stranded in the wild what would it be, he said Ray Mears 😂

Joking aside those two should get together and do some sort survival competition you know drop them on an island and the first one to eat the other wins?

Yup, sorry Bear , you would be toast ! Ray would win every time. Bear would spend half the show rushing around like his hair was on fire and living under a rock, Ray would knock up a full luxury camp with bunk and table then casually trap Bear and truss him up like a turkey !

WANT.

Yes, I will pay pounds in order to save pennies.  It's a Scotch thing, don't get all judgy-racialist on me. :P

Aside, I went to a talk by Ray Mears a few years back, and was genuinely impressed.  He answered audience questions with good humour, but very directly, and without a hint of populist faffing.  Some ecomentalist tree hugger types got quite miffed when he told them straight that, no, we can't all go back to hunter-gathering off the land like a bunch of wookie druids, or else the vast majority of us in the UK would starve.  But he was just so damn charismatic and charming that they ended up gushing and agreeing.  If you've seen the Black Books episode The Travel Writer, and particularly the way folk react, it's pretty clear who they based it on. :D
