Me and a friend have been interested in airsoft for a few years and want to get properly into it. We want to start with spring guns ( as they're not as expensive / high maintenance as gas ones ), does anyone have any tips on good starting weapons? We don't want to splash out just yet but any suggestion is welcome.

Hi

What is your budget?

Tbh with cheap spring guns you will be usually be outgunned, to the point you will not enjoy it.

Snipers and shotguns are probably the exception for spring guns, but pricewise a good sniper can be more expensive than an AEG (Airsoft Electric Gun).

For a starter gun you are better off with an AEG.

Suggest you try rental guns at your nearest site to see if you really like airsoft, and you can then decide if you like it and how much you want to spend.

Cheers

Thank you for your feedback!

Spring guns aren't our main focus, we're happy to try other ones out. We're looking to be spending £100 for our starting guns, just so we don't lose much if we sell them!

Is that £100 each?

To be able to by a realistic imitation firearm (RIF) you will need to have a UKARA registration, otherwise you will need to buy a two tone gun which does not usually hold its  value.

So again better off doing a few skirmishes, get a feel for it, after doing 3 skimishes over 2 months you qualify for UKARA and then decide what you want to buy, and gives you time to save a bit more.

Also need to decide if you prefer outdoors or CQB (close quaters battle), for CQB you might be able to get away with just a shotgun.

Cheers

It'd probably be a £100 each, yes.

Thank you so much for the feedback. Does it have to be across two months? me and my friend are going to three ( if we like it ) this month, or should we wait until next?

You have to attend a minimum of 3 games over 2 months to qualify. You get your papers stamped and dated and you need 3 of them but you wont get your 3rd until the 2 months from the date of your first stamp. No matter how many games you attend.

So if you went for minimum 3 games it would be like this.

Week 1: 1st stamp

Week 4: 2nd stamp

Week 8: 3rd stamp (qualify for UKARA)

More than minimum games so go every week.

Week 1: 1st Stamp

Week 2: 2nd stamp

Week 3: no stamp

Week 4: no stamp

Week 5: no stamp

Week 6: no stamp

Week 7: no stamp

Week 8: 3rd stamp (qualify for UKARA)

Hope this helps.

Whatever shop is it doing CM16s for £90?

They'd need two Toning, but those would last you for a couple of years at least.

This one :)
