America seems the only place idiots can do as they like.

Apparently they still have some fun with idiots waving airsoft guns around in gunshops and wondering why they're staring down the glock barrels of half a dozen rednecks.

Plus i wouldnt like to go airsofting in a country where theres a legit issue some idiot will forget to swap out his edc 1911 for his airsoft one.

(4)The permitted kinetic energy level is—

(a)in the case of a weapon which is capable of discharging two or more missiles successively without repeated pressure on the trigger, 1.3 joules;

(b)in any other case, 2.5 joules.”

The levels are in joules!!!!

Its a bit of a strange area, one of those where the law isnt totally enforced.

For example is it what the item is capable of or what it's actually shooting? Because there are lots of airsoft guns that can shoot hot without modification but they're allowed.

I think its one of those things where the police dont give a damn what airsofters willingly do to each other but they need some legislation to throw at idiots when they decide to take a pew at the public.

It isn't the police though it is the MPs and bean counters who come up with it all. Lack of real understanding is the big issue.

If you get caught waving one around in public the fact it is a bit hot is probably the least of your worries.

True, i guess its the same as having a car that can go faster than 70, if your sensible and stick to the regulations its fine.

The uk limits are pretty sensible imo, compared to ni where its 1j for everything just because they copied the regulations from Eire.
