Specna Core??

Hullo!

Apologies if this has been covered already, I've searched through the forums but didn't find the info I needed.

I'm looking at picking up my first AEG in the near future with a budget I might be able to stretch up to £200 without getting into too much trouble. Pretty much everyone always recommends G&Gs raiders and I do like the looks of the Raider 2.0 but I've read about a fair few EU players enjoying their specna M4s.

Since specna have their core line in a similar price bracket as the raider it's left me a bit stuck as to which to pick. I'm hoping you guys might be able to advise as to which of the two to go with in terms of internals and the durability of the polymer they're made of.

Tl;dr what am bestest of specna core M4 or a G&G Raider 2.0

Grateful for any info,

Cheers!

Raider 2.0 though I don't own a Specna Arms

What you need to remember is though everybody rates SA

They are almost certainly talking about the metal M4's NOT plastic CORE SA's

Other plastic/polymer M4 receivers do not come close to G&G's

So far all the others have been that hard brittle type plastic

that imho could crack in cold weather or if dropped

The G&G polymer is a bit flexible which I believe might be a bit more forgiving

(just avoid the ETU Raider perhaps due to reliability issues in the past)

Mind you, if you was after a damn cheap Metal M4.....

(now that is bollox, not worth buying a cheapo £70 plastic Cyma budget m4 now)

if they made it any cheaper it might get included in the next Happy Meal or cereal box

Ahh gotcha. Yeah that's a big factor in my choice, have heard the internals on SA are better overall but I'd like confirmation about the polymer durability from anyone with hands on experience. Failing that I'll just play it safe and pick up the standard Raider 2.0 (ETU issues aside, that pdw stock is an abomination!) and pick up a full metal SA in the future.

Cheers!

How do they manage to turn it out at that sort of price?

I mean I know it's not top drawer, but even so.

It is a metal Cyma M4, P&J used to use A&K's but they are using the metal Cyma's now

It looks like it has a metal hop and maybe a working bolt catch too but don't quote me....

400mm barrel is a bit long for my liking but I'm being picky now for that silly price

metal flip sights, not plastic snap off type on £70 plastic Cyma's

couldn't give a toss about ambi mag release though

not a grean fan of stock either but I'm being fussy, not sure about the supplied mag

and when they chuck in a 9.6v battery - that isn't to be sniffed at neither

comes in f*cking hot at 420 but free downgrade or perhaps a DMR build even ???

I saw but can't find it now a complete tear down of a P&J M4 with pics of internals

(think it was on arnies airsoft a while back)

inside is a cyma v2 box, slightly different to the plastic cyma M4's for £70

very very slightly different, not so much re-enforcement under cylinder window

but still a cyma v2 with a v3 spring guide (think it has a bearing one in there)

and their funny clear tappet plate with Lonex style cut outs up front

It also should be sprayed black than bare metal & a few other minor differences.....

if you want a more detailed breakdown....

LTuuEER.jpg

the box IS slightly different - pre-radius cylinder corners perhaps

there is no trigger "tang" stop like on cheaper box with its extra re-enforcement above/below window

yup it comes bearing spring guide but that is about it along with bolt catch

Still uses the clear "Lonex" type tappet plate and a clear crappy nozzle

(I'd say the cylinder head still falls out loose but can't be sure)

more on this Cyma 072 gun review at Arnies or just lookey at pics....

(it is a slightly different box but roughly same robust box like the CM.5xx M4's)

Think motor is still a bit sluggish 27/28tpa ferrite one but full metal M4 for £105 !!!!!

c'mon that is just bollox, I'd get one if I didn't have so many M4's already

but funds are not so fluid plus I've run out of hiding places/excuses I think with Mrs Duck
