I'm no expert on this (I'm sure others will chime in with good advice), but I'd suggest contacting the supplier to request a return / replacement / refund if the magazines are malfunctioning. Otherwise any attempt to fix them may invalidate the warranty.

Out of interest, where did you purchase them from?

from rainbow 8. refunding them will be my last resort as not a lot shops have them in stock :(

I use the Esstac kywi pouches, and they never miss a beat.

Used the CQBR all day yesterday at The Gaol and the only issue I had with it was one double feed, my own fault, overloaded the magazine, and ended up spending 5 minutes clearing white shit out of my chamber.

7 mags is perfect, 3 up front, 2 on my right side, 1 on my belt and 1 in the gun. I get paranoid though, and wonder if I should get spares... you know, just in case...

I can only guess they're the single version. Double stack are £24 each

Just out of curiosity what are people's views on the MWS and it's viability for milsim events?

Can anyone offer any general advice or insight on running one for such events?

Used mine yesterday in a small scale game against AEG and hpa high caps, but a lot of semi auto gameplay. I had 6 mags and didn't empty all 6 in any game. Lengths 30-45 minutes.

The accuracy and range negates the need for lots of ammo.

It's my favourite rifle now easily, but of course it has its limitations

bad luck for me guys....

the bb isnt feeding properly to the top of the magazine...

anyone has any idea on how to fix it?

Surely that can only be due to spring tension? Look forward to an answer from the experts

Gotcha. Stupid question maybe, but have you tested whether your other MWS magazines are working correctly? Just wondering whether it might be a fault with your loading method (e.g. speedloader problem).

Otherwise, I would return them myself and get a refund. Better to have money in the bank than risk attempting a fix that may invalidate the warranty and leave you no better off (i.e. magazines still malfunctioning). But that's me.

Noob here also! I've been using a Tokyo Marui speed loader (the smaller, pistol-mag shaped one). Needs a fairly positive/forceful push on the plunger but loads BBS in batches of 4-5 no problem.

Love mine for Milsims awesome bit of kit and never have to worry about ammo or magazine limits.

All I’d say is if you know you’re going to be out for multiple engagements without going back to FOB then carry a can of gas and a speed loader of BBs. However I’ve never ran out of ammo on a milsim mission with 4 mags and that includes being out for 3 hours through multiple engagements, just remember when you start shooting you’ve lost the element of surprise.

@DopeYourScope - Thank you for the heads up, your perspective on it is very helpful. Admittedly I'm considering getting shut of mine for an NGRS as it seems more practical for Milsim type events but I'm conflicted on the matter.

I just played a Battlesim this weekend with mine. What specifically were you worried about? The obvious thing is that if the MilSim permit mid-caps that means you’re at a massive ammo disadvantage being stuck at 35 rounds and of course you need to consider whether or not you need to load gas on your person if it’s a 24/48 hour MilSim as that’s probably preferably to carrying a dozen or more £50 and heavy mags. Of course there is a mod you can do the mags to get 3+ fills out of them to alleviate this, but it still might not be enough depending on playstlye.

On the ammo front, it’s less of a problem than at a skirmish that permit hi-caps so that point’s kind of irrelevant. In terms of ammo expenditure, I personally go through around 200 rounds in 6 hours as I fire exclusively on semi but that’s obviously down to personal play style more than anything else.

Unless you have specific concerns/questions I’d say go for it. As with any gun you need to be mindful of it’s strengths and limitations but the MWS doesn’t pose any notable disadvantage I’d say beyond carrying gas, which is a bigger, more general question in the GBB versus aeg discussion rather than being unique to the MWS anyway.

If you’re not sure whether it’s your mag or your loading method that’s causing the issues I’d suggest you use the pole and plunger included with your MWS just to test the mags out. I actually still use that even at games as I haven’t found a speed loader that works yet.

That’s where I’d say the mws is the king. Low round count, realism games.

All I’d do is if it’s particularly cold I put one of those fabric stick on heat pads under my mag pouches/in the lining of the PC. I’ve only needed to do it when it was approaching Zero degrees on a normal skirmish.

Would never look back to any AEG especially for milsims; I skirmish, play CQB and milsim with my MWS and never feel outgunned. As Wolf said the milsim environment is the best place for the MWS, and in reference to Ross I currently carry 3+1 mags but will be getting another 3 soon.

I think with 7 mags (which is 245rds) all with the green gas mod if I knew I would be out all day without an RTB then I would carry a 500rd speedloader and do a single refill of all the mags. To date on a milsim I haven't run out of ammo on an outing and I've got myself into some pretty hairy contacts 😂.

They're not lightweight mags but I don't find the weight to be an issue, if you don't run training plates in your vest then you're effectively running the same weight as someone who does with a lighter rifle as the MWS is lighter than the NGRS counterpart.

And if you're at a milsim firing full auto and you haven't got a support weapon you've brought the wrong gun, especially if you consider firing full auto with a GBBR, my rifle has only been on full auto to check the fire rate and to show people it can actually fire full auto 😂.

I cannot think of one Milsim I've heard of which does not give you the opportunity for a bit of rest and rearm a couple of times during the day, yes you may have to put a couple of cans of gas in your day bag but you'd have a similar situation with batteries and not knowing if they're charged unless you carry a voltage tester *another thing to forget/lose/take up space* and very few milsims are genuinely hard routine in which you have to carry all your kit on your back most are a little easier allowing you to keep kit at your FOB and return for rearm and a cuppa/food.

Not relating directly to the gun, more set up.

I have the warrior falcon, which is an excellent chest rig, but 3 times my mags jumped out the double stack pouch when 1 was in there

So hive mind. Not wanting to lose expensive mws magazines, what's the best double mag insert out there that isn't too expensive?

Personally i use the HSGI Taco pouches, they always hold my MWS mags in tightly, never had them jumping out and i do a lot of running.

Thing is though the HSGI pouches only accept one mag but i can double stack them but not that i do to reduce front weight and clutter when lying down.

I only carry 5 mags into game with me, 4 in the chest right and 1 in the gun.

TBH Milsim is one of the few (if not the best) times when GBBR is king, especially the TM MWS even in its out of the box stock performance.

Even in full blown, full auto skirmishes i have had plenty of success with the TM MWS, just means you gotta pick your shots or fights better, makes you more stealthy.

Even for full auto or semi auto skirmishes i only run 5 mags with me, 4 on rig and 1 in the gun.

@RossF - My main concern is in relation to how much extra you're adding to carry weight/extra encumbrance from the added weight of carrying sufficient gas to survive the course of a full event. I understand that a fair amount of kit is required for the longer events but I was concerned about the added weight/loss of space. On reflection it's perhaps a bit daft but I was looking at it from the perspective of "with an AEG I only need BB's" whereas with a GBBR I'll need plenty of gas and BB's to ensure I've got enough for the duration.

@Wo1f - Appreciate the heads up and advice, to be honest cold shouldn't be an issue as the cold would likely aggravate other issues so it would only be events during warmer months.

@DopeYourScope - To be honest the issue isn't any sensation or feeling of being outgunned but it's good to hear the feedback in relation to GBBR performance at these events. It's also encouraging to hear about their longevity in the field too. I can't say I'm a particularly trigger happy player, I'd much rather use one shot as opposed to many.

@Shizbazki - I can't say I've ever really looked at the MWS as a full auto spray and pray kind of gun but I imagine there must be some out there who do, haha. Out of curiosity how many mag's do you run for longer events?

On the topic of speedloaders, It seems I've lost the loading tube for my MWS. Conventinal speedloaders dont seem to work for me with these mags and i've tried the Hurricane loader from softair but that broke on me within 10 minutes of using it.

Anyone know where I could get replacement MWS speedloaders?

I use a cheapy M4 shape speed loader with the flip round adaptor I firmed it up with a bit of duct tape as I saw it bulging when pushing BBs in. If not try eagle 6 they seem to be a good supplier for TM stuff

If you want a UK supplier, I'd recommend enquiring with the guys at Eagle 6 (TM specialists). If anyone has a spare loading tube kicking around, it's them (@DopeYourScopebeat me to it! 😁).

PS: I'm having good success with the small Tokyo Marui speed loader. This one.

Going to upgrade some internals :)

This upgrade will focus on the bolt as you can see.

I am installing a lighter bolt, a reinforced nozzle, and nozzle reset, an NPAS valve and if need some enhanced nozzle springs.

The main focus here is to get more shots per gas fill so that's why the lighter bolt was chosen.

Other parts are to help cope with the faster bolt cycle.

The exception is the NPAS valve that is to serve as a power regulator and to prepare for a future upgrade regarding the barrel group so to speak.

In the picture, we can also see a fine-tune hop-up adjustment wheel and some enhanced hammer springs.

The wheel will be used in the mentioned future upgrade in conjunction with a sigx nub, an Eg barrel(370mm 6.03) and tan bucking(some parts need to arrive yet)...

The hammer springs are at this point back up only, as I am going to avoid messing with the trigger box in my MTR.

Only if something there breaks will I get into it.

I was looking at putting in an order for an NPAS and I just wanted to clarify something. When I was looking I spotted ones which are supposedly for the MWS and WE GBBR's but I've also seen ones advertised as specific MWS versions.

Are they both the same or does the MWS need a specific one?

Apologies if this has already been touched upon.

I thought that it had to be MWS specific however someone else like @Wo1f May be able to answer

@DopeYourScope - No idea unfortunately, I'm going off of descriptions. I'll have to see if I can find more on RA-Tech's site (if I can find it). Hopefully I can find a retailer with the NPAS available in the UK.

On a side note thank you to the chaps who responded to my queries regarding MWS viability and milsim events, as a result I'm going to keep it and run it. Admittedly I was very torn on the prospect of selling it so now I'm looking forward to exploring the platform to a much more extensive degree.

@bapexxx - Cheers for the heads up, to be honest I was hoping to get my hands on one in time to install it before Saturday but this maybe wishful thinking, haha. I'll definitely look up their website as I believe RA-Tech do a couple accessories/parts I was interested in.
