Hey all

Do many of you tend to airsoft on your own? None of my friends wanna come and i dont feel great about attending on my own.

Do many of you go on your own and does it bother you?

Alot of people go on their own, i have a few times. Most people there are up for a good time pewpewing and talking about their kit. So long as you dont go waving a nazi flag shouting you hate jewish people, you will have a good day my friend even if you go solo :)

I have mates who play on the same day as me but my gameplay is mainly me just winging it, so in game I may as well have gone by myself.... in the safe zone I talk crap with anyone stupid enough to listen to my idiocy.

Pitch up, load up, pester folk until safety brief... you'll be right mate.

I have only ever played solo bar two times - one was with my brother and his mates - never saw them except once where I shot one of them. The second time was with two of my more serious mates, and while we did fireteam it up a bit, there was still a fair amount of soloing. Don't worry, you'll be fine. They'd just slow you down anyway :D

I go to a site where you get the odd person turning up alone, you often see them within minuets chatting away, the next three times you see them they have totally fitted in & are now part of the site.

Turn up with a smile & an open mind and you will be fine mate.

I generally go airsofting solo. However, through this forum I have met and played alongside/against other forum members. It is a good community.

In game it's pretty much the same either way - if you go with friends, as soon as you're hit you've lost them anyway, unless it's a small site. Out of game, I find most people are receptive to idle conversation. A good icebreaker is always guns: 'ah nice, is that the .......? I've always wanted one of those, is it any good?'

Or just wait for someone else to spark a conversation. Like everyone's said, loads of people go on their own. Appear approachable and you'll be fine :)

Being honest in my experience the guys who go alone usually make new friends quicker, I have seen guys turn up alone & within three events be talking to pretty much everyone. I've also seen groups of guys show up together & stay in a silent group just talking between themselves for months on end before they start mixing with others.

You do minuets at your site? It sounds like great fun.

Seriously, I always go on my own and sometimes feel a little isolated when every one else is chatting away in groups before the game. However, I have had players come up to me for a chat to make me feel welcome and once the game starts being on your own doesn't seem to make much difference, as airsoft is a team sport.

I regularly go alone and to be honest it's quite often better. If you feel the need to socialise then there are always plenty of people to chat to in the safezone. To be honest though once your playing you never stick with friends anyway.

I usually find that I end up playing alongside the same few people who play similar to me and it's never my friends. I am more of a solo player anyway so I don't really do the group thing.

Sometimes it's nice to just turn up and just forget about everyone else and just concentrate and play. I wear my headphones in the safe zone listen to a bit of music and just concentrate on me and they are usually the days I leave feeling happiest about how I have played.

About 99% of my airsofting is done with just me. I knew when I first got involved that it can't be based around friends. Too unreliable!

since i re started airsoft i went to my first game back with a friend as we were on a road trip and needed to do something on the sunday, but after that i had the bug and just wanted to play, so its been alone regardless if anyones comming or not, it did bother me , not going to lie im not the most social person your meet but fun takes over and changes that... iv become a regular at the local site and now know most of the other regulars, new faces come along each game wth the old ones so its not really like im by myself anymore , getting to know more people each time i play, even on a new site by myself its only the first 30mins from when you turn up that your on your own but you should be occupied with getting your kit ready/sign in and then its time for safety briefing and war and by the end of it all you would have exchanged names with someone for next time ;) get stuck in!

I haven't got any friends.

But I like airsoft.

Actually, there was an RP night game I was at a week ago where we were in the role of PMC/mercenaries up against zombie US Rangers and there were 2 blokes on my team positioned behind me who just kept filling every silence with gossip and banter which ruined the immersion for me. Yeah, it's completely fine to go on your own to airsoft - you find new buddies in no time.
