Hey there I have recently just gotten into airsofting, I have only had around 5 games so far and now I'm into gun buying. :)

I have originally looked at the GC16 guns by G&G but Krytac has caught my eye while searching around. Seen recommendations for the tridents on here before.

Now the Mk2 is coming out very soon and I'm looking at the trident CRB but I see it's rated at 365-380fps so it seems a bit hot for most airsoft places at the 350fps limit. Shall I replace the spring? or just wait and see as it can depend on whats sent to the UK? Also looking at the LVOA. I'm not sure if it warrants the £60 extra though.

What are your thoughts on the two?

UK retailers will usually downgrade it for you to meet UK site limits.

Ive got the Mk1 CRB and its a nice rifle. The LVOA was a bit long for me as I have other 'longs".

Welcome and have fun around here, there are many informational topics and I suggest go through them, also check the sticky ones. Now coming back to your AEG choice, I want to say that you're heading in the right direction. I just placed few days a go a pre-order for a Krytac CRB MK2 and can't wait for it to arrive. The Krytac from what I've read are being sold in UK downgraded to meet UK limits. But you could talk with your retailer of choice to see what option they have. Mine for instance offered to change the connector to deans under warranty and free of charge (most likely to persuade me into buying, but works for me).

Cheers, yeah the CRB is the one I'm going for. I'm getting it from pro airsoft supplies. I just need to check whether they would accept the membership that I have with a local airsoft site. UCAP.

Does changing it to deans make it easier to use for some batteries then?

First off UCAP is a fairly well known site so any half decent retailer should accept a UCAP Membership, after all that would be all UKARA would be using if you signed up to it.

Second Deans, is a better connector these days and batteries can readily be sourced ready to go from place like Component Shop UK.

As for gun choice going with the Krytac range you are jumping straight in with an expensive gun, have you considered other options. After all the Krytacs are just regular AEG’s al be it very good ones. You could consider something a bit more modern like a KWA ERG which offers modern features such as recoil, all round feed mags and stop on empty with working bolt function.

Okay then cheers. That will make things easier.

Okay cool I might ask for that then in a roundabout way.

I'm not fussed about the price really. Two of my friends who are just as new went further than me actually. They both went for the TM scar heavy lol. I've had a look at KWA and the only thing that sticks out for me is the AKR-74M. Though the price of that is about the same as the krytac anyway.

I'm giving a friend a lift to an airsoft shop sometime this week and that KWA gun is there so I might still have a look. Though there's not many places to get the magazines specifically for the gun. The 400 rnd mag seems to be sold out in the UK and the 30/60 you can only get from the US from the looks of it. So that can be expensive, that's if it goes through customs okay too. I think I might still stick with the krytac though. Thanks for the suggestion anyway.

Welcome :)

A local Pompey shop is Combat South - http://www.airsoft-forums.co.uk/index.php/topic/27828-combat-south/?hl=combat - who will accept UCAP membership, and although they only specialise in TM and ICS guns would be worth a visit.
