Last shot at getting an airsoft gun

This thread is over three months old. Please be sure that your post is appropriate as it will revive this otherwise old (and possibly forgotten) topic.

So my dad wants me to give him the link of the airsoft in looking to buy, however it comes with certain limitations. If it's too expensive it will put him off but if I get a cheap one and it breaks then bye bye airsoft. So, 3 years of narrowing it down has come to the following. I tried more respectable sites but I struggled to find one under £40 (£40 is still most likely too much) So the links:

https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/product/2-tone-bb-pistols/spring-pistols/446/ha118-spring-bb-pistol

https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/galaxy-g21-full-metal-walther-p38-bbgun-in-blue.html

https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/product/2-tone-bb-guns/spring-rifles/2196/8908a-airsoft-bb-gun

https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/product/2-tone-bb-guns/spring-rifles/3741/m41a-g36s-spring-bb-gun

https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/product/2-tone-bb-guns/spring-rifles/3945/fn-scar-l-spring-bb-rifle

https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/product/2-tone-bb-guns/spring-rifles/2029/l85a2-sa80a-blue-bb-gun

https://www.justbbguns.co.uk/product/2-tone-bb-guns/spring-rifles/2824/m14-m305f-airsoft-bb-gun

That's all of them. Please state which one you think is best and what you've heard on them or if you have any better suggestions. This is my last shot at it and Ineed to get this right.

3 years could all be for nothing if I don't lol.

Thanks again,

James

I know you said pick from the list but the Bison pump-action shotgun range is fantastic in my experience. Accurate, reliable, durable, and just generally fun.

I don't have experience with many of the others but they don't look like they're the best quality, apart from the G36C springer, I've tried that at a friend's house, albeit for a short time, but I liked it.

what are you planning on doing with it?

(and I doubt anyone would recommend any of those guns.... and def not those retailers!)

Three years does seem like a long time to choose a gun, and unfortunately, there really isn't a lot of guarantee that guns at a low price point won't break. It really depends on how well you treat them, if you invest in quality BBs, and how often, if at all, you skirmish with them.

None.

If your budget is honestly that tight airsoft isn't the game for you. A skirmish day will cost you £30 with ammo.

Have you ever thought its best to leave it until you are older and have your own income. Sorry if that comes across harsh but airsoft is an expensive game to play and the kit while not hugely expensive is still not cheap because once you own it then you have to maintain it. I have spent 10× your budget on spares and repairs alone in the last couple of months.

TriggerHappy is spot on. The cheapest I've played for a skirmish day is £25, and that was a fun fairly unorganised woodland game. You'll just have to wait until your older. Sorry, but if spending £40 is such a big deal to you that you wait three years before purchasing an airsoft gun, you genuinely cannot play airsoft, it simply is not possible for you.

I have enough to get a better one but this is just so they know what an airsoft time is, if I can be trusted etc.

None of those can be trusted though :S

Get a springer shotty - still plenty of fun for plinking. If you can stretch the budget then a cheapo cheapo sniper rifle is a lot of fun for a back garden too, but obviously not a good demonstration of what airsoft is really about because at that point you're basically just shooting cans with a super budget air rifle.

Could you not take them to a game and rent?

This is just so they get an idea of what it is, if I can be trusted etc. Will be used for plinking etc.

You need to somehow convince them that it's a fun hobby you want to pursue. A £40 will not show them the way that actual skirmishable guns work and perform. I think you should wait and save for a few years and get a CM16 raider, or at the very least, use that £40 for a full-day skirmish and show them how much fun you're having with more expensive gear.

Every day you don't whip out a knife and stab someone should be proof you can be trusted with an airsoft gun (especially since a water gun can be more dangerous than an airsoft gun - with the wrong liquids).

I just bought this:

£36 posted.

ONLYBBGUNS are perhaps the better of the 3 " BB Places" imho

AEG - hmmm can't recommend one 101% I'm afraid real cheap in UK

well I can but not with a glowing backing and anything really cheap is often a gamble not worth taking tbh....

So I won't advise a really cheap n nasty aeg if budget is around £50 to £80 - you gotta go at least £90 - £100 for a decent s/hand raider starter kit somebody might be selling

Gas pistols:

Shotguns:

OnlyBBGuns still sell some crap but some really cheap stuff like I listed ain't bad - well not ultra $hit

Plus the 10% discount code RC10 still works so you could get a gas non blowback HG-105 for £27

(add on gas n bb's etc... )

yes some stuff is a bit lame but maybe better lame stuff at a better lame price is all I'm saying

not the best stuff but certainly better than some of the crap I bought from JBBG & BBGuns4Less

(actually BBGuns4Less are still better than that chubby liar bastid @ JBBG - don't give him any more money ffs please)

sorry now the 3rd time I posted but with regards to that fat lying JambWow it has to be said:

Thinking about it I want to spend as little as possible and will most likely get s cheap Spring one that a friend has (the g21). Tried it and it felt quite good he's had it for 3 years and it still works. I really don't want to spend too much to I have money left over for the cm16 starter kit when/if I do get fully into this sport.

Jebus, a quad post? Use edit and multiquote.

The shotty you're thinking of is any of the tri-shot clones. ASG does one and so do Double Eagle and a bunch of others. The 'Franchi' is what ASG call it, I believe. They're really all the same though in terms of build quality split across two groups: some fire single and have an adjustable hop and some are tri-shot and have no hop.

I noticed you have posted in the 'recent status updates' that you're going for your first game soon. I've played at that site a few times, the last thing you'd want to take is a cheap spring gun. Most of the shooting at that site is at max airsoft range, going with a springer will likely leave you feeling frustrated and disillusioned with airsoft.

You'd probably be best off hiring kit for a few games until you potentially 'get fully into this sport', and then look at getting something 'propper' that'll last, you'll enjoy and won't put you at a serious disadvantage to the majority (if not all) other players.

I won't be taking a spring gun to it lol, my plan is hire for 3 games (2 woodland, 1 CQB so I can choose which I prefer) then start making the expensive decisions.

You can get a gun that'll do both, long guns have almost no real advantage over short guns in airsoft.

When you're hiring, you'll be using a Classic Army or G&G M4 (I'm pretty sure that is what they have there if memory serves), and although they've been battered by those renting them, they'll probably still outperform any gun in the budget you've outlined.

If you enjoy the sport, it'll certainly be worth saving up and getting something good, first time.

What I think I'll probably do is wait until this time next year to get a rifle for myself and then until then I'll hire out ones. Next year after my GCSE's I have a 10 week summer holiday (we have extended holiday after GCSE's) and I'll probably get it then once I have enough for the rifle, ammo, Chargers, spares etc.

My number one choice right now:

https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/uhc-w700-super-9-sniper-rifle-in-orange.html

-Recomended to me on here a while ago.

Or this if the above is too expensive;

https://bbguns4less.co.uk/products/galaxy-g21-full-metal-walther-p38-bbgun-in-blue.html

-Friend also has had one for 3 years, works well shoots straight the length of my garden and can often penetrate cans.

The first one I would most likely never take to a skirmish as its not what I would want to do, however I would use it a lot in the garden just plinking, fiddling etc. If I do get it then that would be great and this time next year I'll hopefully be able to move onto this:

http://www.zerooneairsoft.com/product_info.php?cPath=268_318_403_720&products_id=5281

Then that's the end of the beginning and au can really get on.
