Mancraft system fully fitted and operational

Mancraft finally fitted and rifle put back together. Its firing about 8 bar (approx 450fps). Not sure how but before the Mancraft I was only lifting 0.4g bb's, now I am lifting 0.43g bb's over about 70m and struggling to keep them down (70m is the length of my garden so can't test further yet). Its strange as I am still using the same Airsoftpro twin arm hop and 6.08 bore barrel, and yet this thing is now firing like a beast. very happy chap

I'm stuck between this mancraft and waiting for the wolverine bolt and wraith stock system. How much did you pay for the entire set up if you don't mind me asking?

A whole mancraft setup should cost about £150 including some spares and P&P

Cheers for that. That's half the price of a BOLT system. Still trying to find out more solid info on that. It sounds more efficient than the mancraft, but for two, maybe 3 times the cost, is it worth it?

With the cylinder, cylinder head to fit my hop unit, regulator and co2 adapter, it came to about £180.

I had to order an additional cylinder head as I bought a system for a VRS 10 but I'd fitted an AirsoftPro twin hop up unit which needed a different head,

Funnily enough I've just sent them an email about a kit as I'm not sure they even do one for my modify M24, I'm hoping they will be helpful and reply, I'll happily send them the bits to get one made if nothing else

I dealt with Michael at Mancraft and he couldn't help me enough. I originally bought the VSR 10 system as he told me that would fit my Cyma cm.701b. Unfortunately I didn't tell him at first about my hop unit. Once I realised the problem he put me righ tstraight away. Very knowledgeable and very helpful company :)

I know my modify is based loosely on the snow wolf M24, the airsoftpro hop unit I have already installed was a perfect fit and that was for the snow wolf, roughly how many rounds are you getting out of a recharge, I take it your co2 set up is running from 12g caps with the associated parts from mancraft?

i'd get a Mancraft myself, I personally think the BOLT system that is coming out is overpriced for what it is considering Mancraft make them and they're absolutely brilliant plus why would you want to add a battery into the mix as well plus you've gotta add a trigger board to the side of your trigger unit, just seems like more added work for more money. For a Mancraft SDIK kit and their regulator that doesn't even come close to the selling price of the bolt system. I would go with something that's already out there and that works.

Does the red device hold the pressurised air, how do you fill it, how many shots are you looking at per fill?

I've had spring and gas in mag powered sniper rifles and never liked either for various reasons. This, however, looks like a good system.

As Proffrink said, the red bit in the pouch is basically the regulator with an adaptor screwed on the end to take the co2 bulb. from there a line takes the co2 to a cylinder in the rifle body and provides the compression to shoot the bb. It really is that simple :)

The red bit also allows the use of an HPA bottle as well, the regulator comes with a grub screw which you put inside then you can use a bottle if you wanted. I’m trying both CO2 using the adapter and I’m also trying my 13ci HPA bottle I have to see which I prefer. I tested the CO2 part out last night properly and like Prof said 80 shots for a single CO2 bulb which isn’t bad.

 

I've sprayed my CO2 adaptor black because it stick out.

decision made, thanks 😊. These were my concerns about the bolt. I understand efficency of Co2 is better in bolt, but for just cost alone, it's gotta be mancraft.

Good decision. Mancraft is a tried and tested system and is very popular. All be it the CO2 efficiency isn’t the best I’d rather that than paying a lot more for a Bolt system and then having to remember to charge a battery for it plus also the installation of an electronic board on the side of the trigger unit that alone is a disaster waiting to happen because I doubt the upper receiver sat on the stock is water tight and when it rains I’m pretty sure water will get in there and there’s your trigger board damaged.

 

I’m sure at some point someone will figure out a way to improve the CO2 efficiency but 80 shots per bulb isn’t bad and its pretty quick change from an empty one to a new one.

I never use 80 shots a game anyhow, so it should be enough. It will be interesting to see how they preform once they can be tested side by side. I have seen reports of mancraft systems having alot of fps creep. Can anyone confirm this? The bolt system is supposed to be very consistent due to a built in reservoir.

I haven’t personally noticed any Fps creep with mine. I’ve had mine sat on a bipod with my chrono lined up and had about 40 shots through it and every shot was pretty much the same Fps +/-, I’ve only tried upto 0.30g BBs though at the moment because that’s all I have. I’m not sure how Wolverine are going to prevent this because with any HPA system joule creep is always going to be a factor somewhere.

The creep is mostly due to people not breaking in their regulators before using them. They take about 300 shots to bed in, apparently. There was also a problem with one of the old design batches about 5 months ago that required the replacement of a part. I think that's where a lot of it comes from.

 

I don't think people mean Joule creep between BB weights - simply the regulator not holding the correct output pressure in some cases. Like you say, Joule creep is always an issue (more so with HPA) but is extremely easy to mitigate and not at all the fault of the manufacturer.

Thanks for the info chaps, much appreciated. This may finally get me the bolt action sniper I've always wanted, I've liked the idea of externally powered on paper but don't want the remote tank.

I like the route ronin667 has taken with the stock pouch. I assume it all fits in there?

I belive the fps with the bolt is "supposed" to be steady as the air or Co2 does not enter the system direct from the bulb or tank. The charge, as it were, is stored in a in line reservoir, so exactly the right amount of air/Co2 is used in every shot. It's a simple yet clever design, but I can't see how that feature alone is worth the extra hassle and double the cost.

I mean, that's what a decent regulator is for so er...

 

I believe the chief benefit to their system is the same reason you'd buy an electric solenoid HPA engine over pneumatic systems like Escort, Daytona Gun or the PDiK. Other than RoF, the only difference really in performance is that the electric solenoids are more air efficient because you have so much more control over that airflow and don't need to over-volumise a barrel if you don't have to. Plus being able to release the air exactly how you want it (and not all at once) means it can be a lot more economical.

 

I'd expect to see 120+ shots from the Bolt, and I know some of their early announcements have basically confirmed that.

 

Though for me that's a moot point because the reason I went for Daytona Gun over anything Wolverine, Polarstar or Protech is the same reason I'm probably not going to switch from the SDiK to the Bolt: Because I wanted it to be fully mechanical so that it's fully waterproof, I can't break it beyond repair and so that I don't have to rely on a battery not dying.

This are all very good point. Electrics are jut another thing to go wrong. I'm fully convinced that the mancraft system is the way forward. Cheers guys.
