Basically, keep the seals lubricated with silicone oil and keep the areas of contact clean and lubricated a little too if you can be bothered. Keep silicone away from the bucking, but do occasionally clean the barrel with isopropyl alcohol to remove any dirt and apply a thin layer of silicone oil to it just so the BB residue doesn't stick and is blasted out the end by the green gas/air.

 

You don't need to go over the top, but I've found it makes a difference to take care with GBBRs as every bit of dirt at those contact points reduces performance marginally as your green gas has to overcome to friction they add to the system. Thankfully GBBRs are also super simple to break down and clean with a rag and some isopropyl from time to time, so I'd do it when you can be bothered.
