Rhetorical question?

Various methods can be used, number and colours for each side (aspect) of the building.

As you look at the building, Front is White aspect, Rear is Black aspect (think back), Right is Red aspect, and Left is Green aspect. So when inside the building looking out to the front, red is on the left and green is on the right (same as port and starboard).

Alternately Front is 1, Left is 2, Rear is 3 and Right is 4.

Key thing is that all the team know which side is designated the front, and can count and know their left from right. :)

"attack from the south west?"

Of course, requires an assumption, that everyone has basic orienteering, and can remember where the sun should be at any given time (if they are easily turned around/disorientated).

Compass points lack ambiguity, but obviously, do not conform to peculiarly shaped buildings.

The building has one door on the smaller side we can see, that is clearly the front. Some of the other builds in that estate with multiple entrances are also not very clear as to which door is actually the front of the building. Never really considered this problem, in all my years of Arma front/back/right/left has never been an issue.
