Hello all,

I've been playing on and off for around 2 years, so technically not a noobie, however now working full time (weekdays) and not working weekends, I have found a lot more time to play during the weekends.

I currently live near Milton Keynes and have travelled around to a few places X-site, Finmere and am looking for other players in and around the area to play with.

I could also use some advice, Currently running a DMR load out after getting very bored with the general AEG load out and wanted something a little more specialised.

Current load out:

Primary: A&K SR25 (Stock)

Secondary: KWA KP45 (looking to sell and get something smaller, i.e glock variant.

Other: Dump pouch for spare mags / smokes ect.

I am looking to upgrade the SR25, by dropping the FPS to around 350-400, new hop up, tight bore barrel (unsure what length I need) and new internals (Cylinder, piston head and piston). Any recommendations would be awesome.

TLDR; Live near milton keynes, looking for some local players & upgrade advice

Cheers!

Why do you want to drop fps for DMR ???

thought most places have AEG DMR's at 425-450 & bolt snipers at 450 - 500 absolute max

normal aeg's run at about 350 but ya SR25 is hardly a easy to wield gun for cqb/taking buildings etc.....

some places might allow a bit over 350 for aeg's but a DMR @ 350-400 is a little low

Welcome to the forum.

DMRs always have the problem of having massively inconsistent site rules ranging from 350 FPS(i.e. none) through to 450-500 FPS. The way I look at it is to accept you won't be able to use it at all sites once you cross the 350 FPS threshold and ideally pick sites you'd like to use it at and tailor the FPS accordingly. I'm basing this on rules sites run in the south east as that's where I play also and I looked when I thought about getting one.

I can't really say much on the technical side as it's something i'd generally prefer to get someone else to do for me. However we are still in the process of checking out south eastern sites, possibly Combat South Woodland this coming Sunday. You are more than welcome to tag along, it will just depend on how far you are happy to drive.

Yeah, after doing a little more research I'm aiming for 425-450 but as said most sites so stupidly strict (I can understand why) about DMR's. However a few around me allow 450 and don't have a problem with it. I think eventually after renewing my UKARA I'll get a smaller lighter gun for CQB, but that doesn't interest me as much as woodland / open field.

*edit* I said "drop FPS" as it's currently shooting well over 450 on .2's.

Completely agree. Some sites I have visited make the DMR FPS limits based on seeing your gun and how it's been locked to Semi ect. Currently there is no way unless I strip my gun completely (almost impossible without good light and a table!). I have been very tempted to get someone else to upgrade it for me but no one local ever seems to have time to fit me in so have decided to give it ago myself, after stripping apart an old M4 and several L96's I think I'm confident enough to do it. If you can recommend someone local I'll throw it their way! But once it's back together I'm pretty happy to drive to most places to try out near gaming areas. I've found the further you drive into the woods the better they are!

Thanks again both.

tweak ya dmr a bit

then pick up a either a cheapy CM short Raider, AK74, G36c etc for cqb if you like to test that water later on

don't have to be laser $hit hot accurate or mega ultra rapid fire as real close is semi only anyway

Then go down to Epsom Tunnels and $hit yaself in the dark (some hot guns f*ckin' hurt though)

or

The Mall in Reading many on here love that place

Andy at Xsite did my mates DMR(G&G SR-25) so it be worth giving them a ring if you haven't already. Although I think like most techs they get pretty busy at times.

Am fairly tempted to go visit these sites, they have been brought up a few times in conversation. Think i'm going to funnel money into the DMR project before forking out for another gun! I do much prefer the more open maps than CQB. But I think I will soon invest in one to take as a back up.

Yeah I was looking at Xsite, but they are almost an hours drive one way. I'm going to give Actionhobbies (local shop) a call to see if this is something they can do, much closer and saves driving / posting. If not I'll give them a call. Thanks!
