There's a hole in the top of the stock, you put a flat head screwdriver into on the pin (as you call it) while holding the screw block with pliers

 

It needs to be done with the stock removed, some of the adjustment bolt heads are glued on while some have a grub screw through it

Yes, take the stock of the rifle by pulling the lever down

 

I don't know what it's called mate but 'location pin' sounds good :)

 

Undo the grub screw all the out then the round nut will undo & that's what you do buddy

The lever on the stock pulls the location pin down to slide the stock backwards & forwards

 

You will see a round nut butted against the lever, when you undo the round nut, that is the adjustment for the location pin that goes into the buffer tube

A good idea might be for you to take some good quality photographs of your gun, its stock, buffer tube, with some close up shots of screws, bolts, pins, etc. That could assist the members who are trying to help you understand what part, type, where located, etc.
