Samurai that looks beast!

I don't often like AKs with rails but that thing is an exception :)

My old school AK47, Started out as bog standard Cyma folding stock, plastic body variant, now sports an Element metal receiver, King Arms metal front set, full sanded and re-stained wood kit and upgraded internals with TM hop unit, quite a heavyweight now, mainly use with Vietnam or insurgent / PMC loadout.

This is the LCT AKMS I sent back for being too shit at shooting to even contemplate trying to sort out:

What was wrong with the AK Ian? I thought they were supposed to be good.

Well if we are talking AK's then here's my 'just about finished' AKMS

That wood looks a bit light coloured spatch. Is it just the camera or do you like it like that?

Looked great - couldn't shoot 30m with a flat trajectory. It was one of the economy versions from fire-support <= avoid like the plague. Better to buy the body kit yourself and fit your own internals, because you'd have to swap most of 'em anyway.

Do you know if they accept standard AK gearboxes then? Was thinking of getting a mini AK74su for CQB/something different for when I hopefully get my UKARA. Or are cyma AKs just as externally good?

You must have just got a lemon Ian, I had one of those a while back and it was great, clean 60m range straight out of the box, I think every company makes a shit one every now and then

Yeah, wood is a touch light but I do kinda like it, bit different to all the others

Ive got an AK103 coming, but the wife who has bought it for me as a Christmas present will not let me have it yet (understandably I suppose) so here is the box which is the closest I can get.

Its intended for a Spetsnaz loadout idea for our Okto Eight Milsims which use a lot of Eastern Bloc/Russian weapons in the game - the rebels team like to play with AKs, SVD and VSS.

As my other personal weapon is a Chinese Type 56 with wooden furniture and not technically an AK, I believe this will be my first true Russian AK, so have gone for the more modern look.

Ive also treated myself to a PSD-1 suppressor for it. Looked at Russian copy optics but binned that idea as too difficult and expensive as I think I need the G&G side mount bracket first and they aren't cheap or that easy to fit I believe.

LCT AK's do take standard V3 gearboxes and AK fire selector parts & hop units, yeah.

I'd say the LCT externals are better finished than CYMA VFC clones, but I suspect that once weathered it would be damn difficult to spot the difference - they are both steel and while there may be a difference in steel quality, unless you're going to try using either to carry a casualty, as a platform to lift someone onto a roof, etc. that is never going to be an issue. The only exception to that is the brown pistol grip on the CM.048 range is a bit bollocks, cheap looking - although having said that, the black one on the LCT I had briefly was also pretty shit - it had a pronounced mould seam and was slightly loose (even though the bottom screw was done up tightly).
