Milspec Solutions' customer service volte-face?

Little bit of a controversial topic...

But today, Milspec Solutions actually told Phil Bucknal (who either still is, or until recently, was UKAPU's chairman), to "fuck off" over the phone, in the middle of sale negotiations, because he was calling on a mobile from his car and the signal was sketchy.

Literally throwing a sale away and then permanently banning someone for having poor mobile reception is utterly ridiculous.

I myself was banned from Milspec a few months ago because I was sent a pistol grip for my L85 and I didn't return it when I didn't need it... Bearing in mind, I told Milspec I didn't need it before he even sent it and that was the last contact I had with him right up to me PMing him to ask why I'd been banned on Facebook.

So considering I'd said I didn't need the grip before it was even sent, but it got sent anyway, I assumed it must've been a good will gesture because I'm always hearing about how good Milspec's customer service is.
But apparently I'd been emailed 4 times asking for it back, he had me on Facebook, he had my mobile number, but he just kept emailing me even though he never got a response...

Either he never emailed me at all and just wanted to make a point about something, or my email account was sending all the messages to spam for some reason.

Despite myself being banned, I continued recommending Milspec whenever I was asked about my L85, because I thought my banning might've just been an overreaction after a long day or something, but after hearing about what happened to Phil this morning? Milspec can jog on.

Either way, when I tried to explain my side of the story I was deleted and told I was being removed "on principle".

Well, by my own principle, based on my and Phil's experiences, I will not be recommending Milspec Solutions to anyone from this point on.

If you want a gas gun specialist retailer, I would recommend Tactical Quartermaster instead.

It makes me wonder though, has anyone else had bad experiences with Milspec? Because aside from myself and Phil, everyone seems to rave about them like they can do no wrong.

I didn't know Tactical quarter master even sold RIFs, I drive past it on the way to and from my old local and it always just looked liked a shoddy surplus store lol

Banned as in, won't deal with you anymore.

As well as restricting your access to the shop's Facebook page. I can only share their posts for example, not like or comment on them.

So you got banned because you bought from them... logic

I've been dealing with them since last Easter, when I took the plunge and bought my WE L85. I still have contact with them, and purchase stuff from them. I've had nothing but great service from them. I'm not going to deny that they can be blunt, but they have always been friendly and honest with me, and unlike one or two other stores I've dealt with, they've never been patronising, rude or insulting. I consider them to be an old-school "no nonsense" style business - blunt but honest.

One thing Ed - my email accounts do sent Milspec's emails to the spam folder, no matter what I do, so that genuinely could be the reason.

It's a personally run store - rather than some faceless online site. (I'll preface the next bit with this: I always phone them up prior to making a purchase) They actively get involved in sales, and (usually) make sure the customer understands and knows everything prior to purchase, and continue with after market support. They seem genuinely enthusiastic to assist customers.

I've had perfect service, and I'll continue to recommend them. Regardless of the quality of service, they certainly know their stuff.

Not dealt with them, but I see it like this. I work hard for my money - spending it is supposed to be a pleasure.

If I don't enjoy the transaction because the supplier is rude or makes me do all the work, I wont buy from them again.

Doesn't matter how good they are or how wonderful their products are.

Seems a lot is going on airsoft wise with rudeness and people generally being a bit of a knob at the moment.

Facebook seems to be awash with people just causing flame wars for no real reason (that's not directed at you ed or the guy that posted about milspec)

There was a massive hooha about the sandpit not allowing two tone guns the other day from "no nonsense airsoft" which spiraled out of control pretty quickly!

Not sure what the problem is with a lot of people these days, were all supposed to be in this together not being arses to each other.

this. Its a shame, because I would rather buy off of smaller businesses, that need the money. But if someone decides to do what the guy did, he can expect lower sales, less people buying from him in the future and overall worse customer feedback. I don't like buying off of the bigger companies, but at the end of the day, you would rather get nice customer service than sh*tty, i think nearly everyone would agree...

Well I'm intending to use them in a couple of weeks to get a KWA M9 PTP Tactical. They seem to be the only place that has them in stock, so I'll let you guys know how that goes.

I have used either Tactical Quartermaster or JTAC for my GBBR need's. They hold a better stock of spares for the WE GBBR's in this country than Milspec and a bit cheaper as well.
