Hello.

I've been browsing the shops for the past week and I can't make up my mind.

I own a Dan Wesson 6 inch. It's a beautiful gun that I always carry by my side during games, but the holster I have is just a standard drop leg pistol holster. I had to do some tailoring to make the revolver stay in.
The revolver is not light, so it's a bit uncomfortable carrying it in a standard holster. I often have to stop to pull the holster up, since the main bit holding it by my leg is elastic and google wasn't very useful when I was trying to look for tips about holsters.

I've seen the holsters made specifically for that revolver:

I am not sure about the one above, because I have a chest rig, therefore it would probably be a bit uncomfortable to carry. The other one (link below) is a shoulder holster, but I am also not sure whether it would fit over a molle vest. Perhaps I am wrong? How exactly would you place it on your belt? Should the belt be hanging loose?

I can't really decide just looking at the pictures and I don't have the money to buy all the possible choices and play around. Nor can I go to a proper airsoft shop.

I read that Dan Wesson Co2 is based on a real gun - "Taurus Raging Bull"

There are some holsters for this one, but the revolver has only 6,1/2 inch option that is closest to my size. I don't think half an inch matters, but I am not sure if other dimensions would be correct. The height of the revolver is a bit different, for example.

If there is anybody that is using Dan Wesson, could you tell me what kind of holster you are using and whether you are also using a chest rig?
Do you think that the Raging Bull holster would fit? Here's a few examples:

The only one I've seen is this one: http://www.socomtactical.net/clothing-and-equipment/holsters/asg-strike-holster-for-dan-wesson-6-8-black.html , but it's a belt mounted holster only. Can't suggest anything specifically for MOLLE mounting, other than the generic ones you may have seen.

As regards the shoulder holster, I've got one to carry my Glock when I'm running light with just a sniper rifle and that is comfortable enough, but I doubt it would be so over a tac vest or with something as heavy as a DW Revolver swinging about in it, as there is nothing to hold the holster in close to your body other than the shoulder and back straps.

The official holster in first link works great. Very comfy to use and holds the pistol perfectly. Comes with a strap to go over the top but its not even needed. The gun stays in position without it, even at full run. Doesn't get in the way of my plate carrier so you should be fine with a chest rig.

I've tried many holsters trying to find a fit for my 6" TM M19 and the best I've found is this style mounted to a belt:

Revolvers are bit too heavy for most shoulder style holsters - mine kept slipping out - unless you look into the real steel holsters.

Just bought the ASG Strike for my 4"

Looks like one of the best holsters out there for it to be honest.

Straps like this stop drop leg holsters from moving about when you run:

It's 20mm polypropylene webbing with a simple ladder lock side release buckle. The one from the belt under the crotch goes through an elastic loop which holds them both together with a small amount of play for comfort.

How did you mount the holster so that it wouldn't cause discomfort while wearing your chest rig?

And is there a specific strap for tightening up the holster or is just ANY strap you can get?
